  1. My husband got his welcome letter on Wednesday.
  2. They just had an online informational zoom last week and I think they said they had 32 spaces this round. Seems less than what they’ve had in the past.
  3. My husband applied, and just got his acceptance letter! Very excited for him. Have you heard back yet?
  4. Where did you get the 7 hours course CEU's on detection and reporting? I'm working on getting my PHN cert too, and fortunately they have method 2(because my school was not ccne accredited at the time I graduated, but are now).
  5. It's on the BRN. https://www.RN.ca.gov/pdfs/applicants/phn-app.pdf
  6. I have been looking into the PHN certificate too, I'll be applying with Method 2 because my nursing school was not accredited with CCNE till after I graduated :( I am wondering about #4 document requirement: 4. Verification of training in the detection, prevention, reporting requirements and treatment of childneglect and abuse which shall be at least 7 hours in length and shall include but not limited to prevention techniques, early detection techniques, California reporting requirements andintervention techniques completed in a baccalaureate or specialized program in nursing or acourse approved for continuing education (CE) by the Board of Registered Nursing. The course must include coverage of the California Reporting Law requirements per Section 11166.5 of theCalifornia Penal Code. Anyone have recommendations on a CE course that meets this criteria?
  7. Has anyone heard anything yet from CSUEB? Asking for someone not on this forum but applied.
  8. @donna6250 No he didn’t:( so disappointed for him. He called and to find out why, they couldn’t give him any points for his 5 years as an EMT because of a missing signature. And couldn’t give him points as a native even though he took all his prerequisites at Bay Area community colleges because he has a bachelors degree from another country. If anyone has tips that helped your application I’d love to hear them. He’s going to apply again and to more schools. Congrats to everyone who got in, enjoy the ride. I loved my nursing school experience and hope you all do too ?
  9. Oh crud! You have good stats too:( sorry to hear that. Did they say what number you were?
  10. That’s great and nerve wracking at the same time! Thanks for the indie! Best of luck to all of you! Hope you all get in? mammamagic- is this your first choice?
  11. I think Concord campus is spring only, if I read it correctly. Anyone know the average number of students that apply for spring?
  12. 50 points maximum – prerequisite GPA based on submitted transcripts.**  Science prerequisites - 7 year recency  One science prerequisite retake within 7 years allowed without point deductions  More than one science prerequisite retake within 7 years deducts 3 points off your application, for each additional retake • 35 points maximum –TEAS Score based on Adjusted Individual Total Score. Minimum overall score 70%  Minimum English and Reading score 65%  1st, 2nd or 3rd attempt only, any version • 20 points maximum - Personal Statement – three short answer questions ( fall 2020 admission only) • 15 points maximum–Health and Community Related Experience (paid or unpaid) • 5 points –2nd Language Proficiency in approved languages: ASL, Arabic, Chinese (any dialect), Hindi, Persian (Farsi, Dari, Tajik), Russian, Spanish, Vietnamese Question about CSUEB point system, how do they assign points to GPA, TEAS, work experience etc? example: 35 points max for TEAS: is 100% a full 35 points? And you get less points for lower teas scores? Is there a formula? Thanks! I’m a nurse already but my husband just applied for spring 2020 and not on social media. Thanks for your help.
  13. My spouse applied for spring 2020 at CSUEB, his stats are 3.7 gpa, 85% TEAS, native, 3 years as EMT. Hope he gets in. Anyone else apply?
  14. DO your reccommend one agency over another? I've just turned in my nmbi request for application form and paid for my application to come, I haven't decided if I'm going to do it alone or designate an agency. I am quite the go getter and don't like the thought of not being able to call the NMBI about my application and leaving it up to an agency, unless the agency has a good reputation for advocating for its applicants. Do you reccomend any?
  15. @irishhurricane how did the appeal go?
  16. Did you end up applying to the NMBI for your nursing license? I just sent my request form in and paid the €350 to get the application and PIN number. My question is, does anyone know if it's better to do the whole application my self or put an agency on the application. To represent you??? Thoughts?
  17. What agency are you with and what type of nursing do you do? Is it very specialized?
  18. Yes, I guess my question for RN4008 wasn't clear, being that she can't do OB nursing in her current situation, what did she/he decide to do? go back to school to be a midwife or apply as a general RN? thanks :)
  19. HI RN4008, Did you ever apply to be an OB nurse in Ireland? From reading the NMBI website, it doesn't seem like our U.S. BSN's didactic hours or clinical hours equate the same as in Ireland. What did you chose to do? :)
  20. Does anyone know if you can EMAIL a scanned attachment of the Overseas registration Application Request Form to NMBI or does it have to be mailed in?
  21. I'm new to this group and about to start my application to NMBI. Thanks to everyone who's been so active and given such great information on here! I have a couple questions. 1 for those who are NICU or peds nurses of any type, have you been able to practice in Ireland? Sounds like this might be a challenge for me since I'm from the United States and we have generalized education, even though I have 5+ years work experience. 2. Sounds like many of you are with an agency? Is this necessary to apply to the NMBI, or is it to help you find jobs? What are the advantages and disadvantages of going through an agency? Do they take a commission from your salary? 3. Can someone please send me an electronic copy or link of the application packet- I'd really appreciate it. :) [email protected] Thanks everyone- fingers crossed that this whole process will go smoothly.
  22. They told me the hub interview was the final step, it's a panel interview. I have no idea is this is a northern cal thing, but I just got an email saying I'm on to the last phase. Fingers crossed!
  23. I just completed the voice advantage interview, it was interesting and sort of nerve wracking especially because you can't connect with a live person. I did it for oakland/San Leandro/ east bay Kaisers, and my recruiter said I won't hear back for 1-2 weeks for a hub interview. The steps to being hired at Kaiser are something else, I've never had hoops to jump through like this.
  24. I just had a telephone interview and then they sent me a link to do another interview that was online and telephone, it was called Voice Advantage. Is this what you're talking about?
