Personalities of an ER Nurse
........I would be the good guy/gal, maybe bordering on the soldier.

Are there any nursing quizzes
There is a personality type of test called the "DICE" test that HR uses at some hospitals. We had to take it at a hospital orientation and everybody agreed with their outcome. I forget what all the letters stand for but I was a "D" I guess for Dominant personality. My second letter was "C" for Conformity I believe, and with it's description it said : rule follower, precise with details, etc. Everyone at the ICU table was a "C", the ER people were "D" and the I's had a mix of people from the IS dept and I think the "E" people mainly were OB. It was interesting and it was much more involved than this but that might help you find a direction in which department to go to or just more about your personality. Good luck!

Awwww Shucks, my best buddy is going to OB
It was a sad day when my best friend went to another unit at another hospital! I miss her all the time. Sometimes it's hard to tell work stories too and we work different shifts so we are a little disconnected. But I think it is the perfect job for her because she never liked what she was doing. It was only a matter of time.

Question about Houston Agencies?
(In Houston)Considering going agency but very nervous about what's out there. I work in an ER and ran into someone from Favorite Nurses, they spoke positively about the company but not too much on their website about pay, etc. I was looking at Intellistaff, NursesRX, I guess I am looking at anything due to the fact I don't even know what agencies are doing what and how reputable they are. Opinions Please!

Yikes, my hands are a mess, help!l
Our hospital just installed some of those alcohol sanitizers on our unit and it instantly irritated my hands. I stopped using it, left my rings off and switched to Eucerin cream for hand lotion. I left a bottle at the nurses station and noticed a huge improvement in a few days.
