  1. I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling this way. I believe that nursing can be a very rewarding career, but you have to find what works for you. Did you feel symptoms of depression before you started your career as a nurse? I just wondered if maybe it is the depression that is making your job/life hard to deal with or if it is the job that is making life harder to deal with. Either way it is unfortunate that you are going through this. My best advice would be to think deeply about your passions. What do you feel passionate about? Children, women's health, gereatrics... so on and so forth. The great thing about nursing is that your opportunities are wide. There are so many different areas of healthcare that you can work in. Maybe switching it up could be helpful. I have also dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts and I admire your honesty! Here is a link to a video that helped me in that time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3agIy5L4JMY Hopefully that helps a little. Hang in there.

  3. I see that you have already received several replys on this but I just wanted to add to the list and say it is class I think is great for any future health care pro. I am currently taking Med term. and it is so helpful. In my class it is not only the word parts but so much more. We go over diseases and ways to treat/diagnose them. Anywho it is a great class and if you have the time and the $$ I say go for it, it can only help you!
  4. I'm so glad to see this thread. I'm from Florida but in Arkansas for school. I will be applying for the ADN progam at the University of Arkansas at Ft.Smith. I also want to apply to the bachelors but am unsure if I will have enough pre-reqs completed to apply. My school does not require any pre-reqs for the ADN program but is very competetive so if you don't have g.e classes done your shot at getting in is much lower. The ranking system is 25% gpa 75% PAX RN exam. So yeah I have A LOT riding on that exam! I wish everybody the best of luck.
