Induction Medications
Thank you for the reminder of the terms. Perhaps I can rephrase my request. What have been some of your experiences using cytotec in the field and have you found it effective enough to be used solely or has it lead to other medical interventions, I.e more induction drugs, c/s, etc.. Thanks!

Induction Medications
Hi everyone. I am a PCU rn, about to have my first baby. My ob says my little man is overdue. I'm 40 weeks and 4 days. Personally I don't think that's really overdue..I know there's always a 2 week variation before and after the edd. Anyway I'm scheduled for an induction this Sunday and my ob wants to induce me with cytotec po. I feel very apprehensive about this because I've done so much research on this, know that it's an off label use for induction according to the FDA ( they say it should not be used on pregnant women at all) can cause uterine rupture and death of mother and baby among other scary risks. I'm so confused because a lot of my family members who are nurses and coworkers say its routinely used in the field and I even saw it in my hospitals intrapartum order protocol. I would really appreciate any feedback on this drug and whether or not you think it's safe vs other induction meds. Thanks so much!

Help! Common meds given in the hospital
I know there was a thread about this before but its several years old. Would anyone be able to put together a current list? Thanks in advance for anyone who actually takes the time...believe me it will be much appreciated. I started my first nursing job after having graduated 18 months ago!!!! Finally! All you new grads still actively on the job hunt...trust me if you keep at it there is a light at the end of the tunnel. There is hope after all =). The trouble is, I've been out of school for quite some time and I am in desperate need for a review. Would anyone be able to help? Thank you so much! :redbeathe

Do you know if they still have more phone calls to make or they've pretty much decided who's getting an interview by now?

ACLS on-line review
Hey everyone, Does anyone know of an ACLS renewal course that can be taken online? I know that the AHA has a new ACLS Part I course online, but it requires a skills session for the hands on megacode for completion. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am basically looking for an online course renewal, with an online megacode, and AHA approved. Thanks!

RN-Refresher Course for New Grads?
Hi! Thank you very much for your input=) I just figured that taking a refresher course would be helpful since I've heard some help with job placement..and while you do clinicals at the facilities networking could be achieved. I could also use a little brushing up on my clinical skills as well. I figured that it would show employers that I am still up to date knowledge/clinical practice wise even though I've been a year out of school. I will definitely heed your advice though in regards to applying in other geographical areas.

RN-Refresher Course for New Grads?
Oh excuse me...I meant to say regarding UCLA interviews that only 200 interviews were given and there were 80 available spots for new grads.
