  1. My patient has a mickey gb and we attach these little red things to the tips of the syringes so that it fits into the g-button. i have no idea what they are called though. sorry =(
  2. I graduated in may and i'm almost 23 but i look younger than my age. I just started out in pediatric home health.. after meeting my first patient, the mother said she didn't want me because she thought i was too "young". It bummed me out a bit at first, but I try not to let it get to my head. Thanks for everyones encouragement on here! =)
  3. panzyo3, did they ask you what your gpa was? are you in an internship there? i dont live in the dallas area, i live in houston. but i have a friend who wants me to move up there but its unlikely i will.
  4. i keep seeing internships want atleast a 3.0 gpa, and im just slightly below that. i dont even know if i should even try to apply for an internship. what do you guys think? its also discouraging reading these posts, im afraid after all the hard work we all have been through that we will have a hard time finding a job..=(
  5. they dont ask for your gpa for internships and new grad programs? seems like every internship and new grad program here in houston asks for atleast a 3.0 gpa for the program.
  6. im also from south texas.. houston, texas. most new grad programs and internships ask for atleast a 3.0 gpa and im like slight below that so i dont know..
  7. I will be graduating this May in an ADN program... I'd like to know how everyone got their first nursing job..did you start in an internship/new grad program or did you wait till you passes nclex and just got a job as an unexperienced RN without an internship or new grad program. is it hard to find a job without an internship/new grad program? i want to start in an internship but many ask for a gpa of atleast 3.0 and my gpa is just slightly below a 3.0 and im afraid i wont find a job this summer after nclex. im hearing that its harder for new grads to find jobs .. any input is appreciated. thankss!
  8. thank you so much for your information! i will be graduating in May 2010, one more semester (yay!). our school did not tell us we need an internship at a hospital to graduate, but we do have clinicals every week. i was just wondering.. if we didnt start with an internship..when we get a job, will we still get like a training or orientation on how to do things (like how the facility works and how to transition into a nurse by yourself).
  9. low BP and high HR may indicate shock from some sort of hemorrhage or bleeding also
  10. is it possible to still get an internship if you have a low gpa? i graduate in may 2010, and should start looking for internships this january. im just below a 3.0 right now and most hospitals ive been seeing are saying they consider those with 3.0+. what happens if you dont get an internship? do we wait till we graduate get our license then look for jobs? how do those work?..like will we still be transitioned into nurses with like a preceptor or trainer?
