Hi everyone! I just passed my boards this past December (praise God!!) I am wanting to continue my education, ultimately getting my Masters degree. So I wanted to know if you guys knew of any good ADN to MSN programs in either Illinois or Indiana? Preferably, mainly online. I know that you can't do the entire program online, but some programs in other states has the majority of the program online, and the rest has to be done on campus. I have done a lot of google searches and I keep coming up with Excelsior and Loyola. I'm looking for any other schools. I'd appreciate any and all info! Thanks guys!

Hi Deniseronaldpolite, I took the Hesi already, and I can tell you that when I was preparing for this exam, I bought 3 different nursing entrance exam books along with the Hesi study book. These books are great for reviewing things you might have forgotten and learning things you might not have known. It really doesn't matter which nursing entrance exam books- they are all cummalitive tests and study guides that deal with material that will be covered on the Hesi exam. Hope that helps! Hi everyone, just an update, as of June 14, 2010, I am now an official Nursing student - Praise God!! Also, my sister in law and I scored pretty good scores on the Hesi entrance exam, but we studied for 2 weeks straight- literally. And I bought 3 Nursing entrance exam books to also get a feel and a review for what will be on the test. These books are essential in my opinion. There's a lot of things we were taught in school, but these books remind you of a lot of what you might have forgotten, so I can't stress enough- buy some Nursing entrance exam books to help prepare for this test! Hi Cellz, the Hesi entrance exam we took cover Reading, English, Vocab, Comprehension, some med terms, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Biology, and Math. Basically, we reviewed old stuff we already knew and learned new stuff that we needed to know for the test. Hope that helps! : )

Hi, My sister in law and I both scored at the top of the class- we start Nursing school in June and cannot wait! My suggestion is to study the A&P as much as possible! This is the major portion of the Hesi where people do the worst. I took A&P already and still forgot a good portion of the material. So review, study, memorize all the A&P you can get your hands on. Honestly, I would review anything and everything you can get your hands on- that means basic grammar to advanced vocab, to sentence structure to med terms...study it all! What I did was I went to Amazon and bought about 3 of the best (checked which ones had the best reviews) pre nursing entrance exam books. These books cover just about everything you need to know in order to be prepared for this test. Do not go into this test studying lightly. While this test does have a lot of easy or not so hard questions, it also does have questions that you can only answer if you have studied a lot. My sister in law and I studied for about 2 weeks straight. I didn't really watch tv at all, I pushed any design work I had aside and literally studied a lot! It's far better to over prepare than to not be prepared enough. Sorry to ramble! I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi! The Hesi covered a little bit of medical vocab, like the basics, and also included a lot of reading, grammar, and other vocab. If you have ever taken an advanced vocabulary class, these types of words would appear on the exam. I hope that helps! If you have more questions, feel free to write back. : )

Hi everyone! I took the Hesi Entrance Exam on the 17th and did pretty good on it! From my understanding, there are 2 types of Hesi Entrance Exams- one that doesn't have Science, Chemistry, and A & P questions and one that does. The one I took did have Science, Chemistry, and A&P on it. I do have the Hesi Entrance Exam study guide. There are 2 study guides- 1 just tells you all the Science, Chem, and A&P things you need to know (it doesn't tell you everything in detail, its just a general outline of what you should study for the test). Then there's another one that has no Science, Chem, or A&P in the study guide. It strictly deals with Math and English, Grammar, Vocab. My suggestion is to go to Amazon and buy any Pre-Nursing Entrance Exam books. I bought 3 different kinds, and studied in detail all the Science, Chem, and A&P. I found all of these be extremely helpful and found a lot of what I studied to be on the exam. No matter what entrance exam you are taking for Nursing, all of these books will be beneficial to you. Thanks so much!! I am trying to review everything I can from A&P. I took it last year but in an accelerated class (not the smartest idea!!) and I am having a hard time remembering everything. I actually was on here earlier for a few hours reading through all the posts. Some of the posts that seemed to be most helpful to other people who are in the same situation (having to take the Hesi test) had a study guide that was very beneficial to their studying for this exam. The only problem is the link provided on the posts is expired. I already purchased another study guide, but I was hoping for that study guide that one of the other girls had. I guess I will just continue studying what I have so far and wait to hear something from someone else.
