  2. A few quick tips, do everything you need to do for the patient, ie IV EKG, labs, fluid, assesment, foley whatever , in one trip and always think to cut your time in the room by a third. if you spend to much time in one room you will drown. next, and some will dissagree, I dont feed my patients in the ER , if your hungry you shouldnt be there. and third most of your patients do not need to be in the ER, they show up for alot of things that are not emergencies, toothache, uti, std, etc.etc focus on the sickest person first, then the bs ones.
  3. I need to do one psychosocial dx on my care plan, I have no trouble writing everything I need I just need to know if Adult Failure to thrive is a psychosocial. Defining characteristics include depression, apathy, decline in cognitive function, social withdrawal which all seem like psychosocial to me? Anyone know for sure?

I have sort of a different question, I was in the ER of a childrens hospital and they had a machine that was simply a LED light in a flexible cord attached to a machine, they would run the light over the skin and boom see the veins. My question is can I purchase a LED pen light that can be used to do the same thing? I always carry a pen light so if I could find one that could be used for both examinations and this purpose that would be great. Anyone with any info or how wide of a beam I would need for it to be effective, I think the one in the hospital was about 1/2" diameter. Also would a half inch diameter pen light be uneffective for doing optic tests? Thanks for any help
