This is SO awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I felt that would have a hard time remembering certain things but this will help tremendously.

Can A&P plus working a full time job work for me?!
Thanks so much for all the advice! I have both A&P I and II, Microbiology, and Into to Computers since my course I took 7 years ago is of course, expired. I went to a private school that practically ate all my loans up so there's no more money to work with. I plan on taking Intro to Computers online and then taking A&P I. I just get real nervous and worked up when the thought of not passing because of work swims through my mind. But I am taking all your comments with me and I'm gearing up to make this step into nursing happen. Thanks again!

Can A&P plus working a full time job work for me?!
Okay....my mind is going bonkers! I am planning on taking my A & P I class in the Spring. Sounds do~able, right? Well, the issue is that I also work as a full time secretary (3rd shift weekends) in L&D at the hospital. I'm hearing from everyone that I need to drop down to part time because the course and nursing school are very time consuming. But I don't have any other person who can finanically be there for me since the school's finanical aid denied me for everything but the lottery due to me already have a Bachelor's Degree. So what is a girl to do?! I want to be a nurse in the very near future and I'm only 4 classes away from getting in the program. Can someone please shed me some light on this very gloomy situation???? Thanks, Chenita

Nursing as a second career...am I doomed
I was in the same boat. I have a Bachelors Degree in Health Science.I decided my junior year of college, though, I really wanted to become a nurse but I was too far into the program to stop. I couldn't find a job in my profession and then I moved 4 hours away from home. I began looking at the community colleges and noticed that I only needed 3 more classes in order to get into the nursing program since majority of the classes I took at my previous college transferred. So, Please don't get discouraged nor give up. There are some really great programs out there. Best wishes!

Feel like crying...need encouragement
I'm happy that you didn't give up. I'm 27, moved 4 hours away form my family to be closer to my boyfriend and then our relationship ended. Now my main focus is getting through these pre-reqs and sailing into the program (hopefully)! Good luck to you and remember Never give up on your dream....

Spring 2010 Hopefuls!
Where are you applying? What are their requirements/what do they look at for admission? What is your current GPA? (science and GE) Any entrance exams? scores? Plan A, B and C? 1. I'm applying to Greenville Technical College in Greenville, SC 2. Depends if you want to get into the Practical Nursing or the ADN program. - A & P I & II -Microbiology -Probabilty and Statistics -English 101 -Psychology -Public Speaking -Introduction to Computers - A Humanties Elective -And, you have to complete a "Career Talk" which is good for 2 years! Plus you have to meet a certain point range and meet the deadline. 3. GPA: 3.0 4.No entrance exams are required. I'm a transfer student with a Bachelor's. 5. A, B, or C.....? I have no choice other than becoming a nurse. If not accepted now, I will take more classes to earn more points. I also plan to look @ University of South Carolina- Upstate for their BSN track. Good luck Spring 2010....!

my plan for nursing
Thanks for the insight. I think I'm going see if I can change my 12 hour shifts to the weekends (when I start) so I could focus more on clinicals and class. Congrats on getting in. Alot of people who I have graduated with are having a hard time going back to school since the financial aid is very limited. Thanks again for responding!

my plan for nursing
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Health Science but knew my junior year of college, I wanted to become a nurse. Thank goodness that majority of my classes were transferred and I have only 3 classes left until I get accepted in to the nursing program. I'm kinda unsure if I can work a full time job at the hospital and do my clinicals too. I don't want to drop to part time so this has been very difficult to deal with. I know that nursing is my purpose and I will try to do my best to achieve my goals. Good luck to you all.
