  1. I work for a Pediatric hospital in the primary care clinic- $25 hourly M-F 8 to 5 with benefits as the clinical supervisor. (Dallas / Ft Worth Texas)
  2. 22 hourly as a LVN (graduated in Aug 2010) in a pediatric office working 8 to 5, M-F.
  3. You could start your own medical supply company from all of the bandaids, syringes, etc in your pockets following your shift.
  4. Haha...No. Never, but the doctor that I work for has and does quite often in MID SENTENCE!! He will talking to you about a Pt and just nod off. He also has been known to doze while charting.
  5. The program is rough, I won't lie. Many times, I thought I didn't have it in me. They intend for it to be that way, so that the NCTC LVN grads can compete for jobs. By 3rd semester clinical you will be expected to care for 5 patients at a time. Most LVN's that I have talked to lately, said they only were expected to handle 3 at a time. It seems easy at first, even into the second semester you might be thinking," I thought they said this was gonna be tough?!?!" But watch out, it's like the instructors have a complete bipolar turnaround! I was at the Corinth campus, and we had 42 people at first, then only graduated with barely 20. One thing I can say is ALWAYS practice your skills in the lab. The instructors will be watching who does and who doesn't. Trust me, you do not want to be singled out in your next check off. They can literally make your life hell in checkoffs and if they don't see you in the lab, they will make it hell. =/ As for financial aid, mine was final after each semester began, but you should be able to get a note of some sort from the financial aid office to take with you to the bookstore and they will keep sort of a "tab". That way you can get everything you need. I know that's what I did. Remember to Be prepared for ANYTHING. I don't want to scare you, just prepare you. For all that I learned, it was worth it because in the end, I can honestly say that I am a damn good nurse and they made me that way. Let me know if you need any more info, or would just like to vent. It helps to have someone who knows EXACTLY what you are going through. You can also PM me if you would like. Good Luck! You will be great! :)
  6. Hey! Congrats on getting accepted. I graduated from NCTC in Aug 2010. Best of Luck!! =)
