  1. I think this is great section. I hope people use it more. There is a lot of good advice and it is so true. Yves
  2. I have just opened my own office hopefully to a clinic. I went to Doctors with my idea and they had pts that needed my help. The kind of massage that I do insurances pay for lymphedema. I am getting wonderful support from the medical community but it took about six to eight months of talking investigating hiring an attorney. I am still working on ideas for medicare billing in my office versus in the office of the doc but we are headed in the right track. Look at all your options what you love to do and make a plan that is believable and beneficial for the docs plan. Then I took a business class and did a business plan. Viola!!!! My office opens Monday and I have a waiting list of pts. Dont let people tell you it can be done believe research and plan. Good luck!!!! Yvonne
  3. Hi I just took a course in lymphedema. I was supposed to work for a doctor indepedently when i got done but he feels he doesnt have the office space. I know i can bill some insurances but i really want to work with cancer pt which are mostly medicare. Should I look for a physical therapist partner or should i look for anothers doctors office. Where d i look or get help with billing Hey nurseperson could you help maybe email or phone me or vice a versa. I need some guidance. You know we should write a boodk or manual for nurses to go into their own practise and billing issues. yvonne I need help need to get started!!!!

  5. It is my understanding that one theory is the build up of wastes and that MLD or manual lymphatic drainage greatly helps the fibromyalgia pt The massage is light and stimulates the lymphatic flow. Yvonne
  6. To Nurseyperson Do you think I could give you my phone number or vice versa. I have a lot of questions and want to get started right. Yvonne my email address is [email protected]
  7. I am a nurse in the midst of many good changes. Ive been looking into lymphedema massage. The schooling is two weeks and and is intensive you have to test at the end. Rns OTs PTs and MTs are allowed to take the course. Ive been told by some the Rns have a harder time at getting the technique. Today I am going to docs in the area and ask if there is a need in this area. As a nurse I will need a Doctor to order and bill I think. But I have been told that I will be able to do this from home. I am looking into having supplies they can buy or rent such as the compression pumps dressings hoses. I will have exercise classes while waiting to get their manual massage. Also many will lack in poor nutrition and i will carry a line of supplements and have quality snacks . I am looking at placing a steam room in my bathroom. My husband says it is very easy to do. There is some that do hot and cold hydrotherapy to help increase the circulation. My mind keeps racing at all of the things I could offer. Besides those that have had cancer and their lymph glands removed or destroyed with radiation, there are those that have PAD, lipedema, poor nutrition low albumin where there legs swell. I forsee gastric bypass pts that dont take protein shakes will have this problem. The schooling I am looking into is in Florida. Anyone have any ideas about marketing to docs that is the part that I am most nervous. Go figure an ICU nurse nervous around Docs. yvonne
  8. Hi What type of things did you invent and how much money were you out? y
  9. what is urodynamics? i am curious gosh there is some great ideas here yvonne i think it is great we can think outside of the box and try new things. So many of my friends fill stuck and unable to change what they are doing. I believe if we want change then we take the steps to try if we fall we get right back up and try again yvonne
  10. i have several ideas and have been told if i talk to anyone about these ideas i need to have them sign a confidentiality form. I am learning this one thanks so much for the idea of mailing it tomyself tomorrow i will do just that yvonne
  11. Look at my reply about massage therapy for lymph edema I also have a great home base business for nurses that i am doing quite well at. please email me at [email protected] yvonne
  12. ive worked agency in seattle with several different companies and i have been a traveler for for several years. the other thing to remember with agency is some are just local and some are big and throughout many states. Also remember a lot of times the best paying will mean that you will probably get called off first. I would rather go with reputable than best paying. also some agency also do travel so you already have to paperwork done and you developed relationships with that company good luck sounds like you have many aspirations yvonne
  13. Harborview and Swedish has a lot of canadians working at their hospital
  14. Renton area is not a bad commute to Seattle and new homes with nice yard around 250,00 to 350,000 I love seattle and i dont mind I5 altho it is busy at times Your best bet is to get a rental place for six months get a job and look to buy so you have time to investigate schools and get the input of coworkers that have lived there their whole life
  15. on the positive note of gastric bypass I had my surgury 1994 weighiing in close to 500 pounds. This surgury has changed my life. I am more confidant with my job. I am remarried to a wonderful attentive husband. I race cars, travel, teach at support groups at gastric bypass I do have to be careful with supplementation . But overall I am doing great! If i stayed the previoous weight i could be bedridden or dead by now.
