Yey! Got the job in the hospital!
I was honestly asking either. The reason is, I received my CNA license in Nov. 09 and am in a acute care class. I finish class next week. Hospitals in my area, ie: Ca. will not hire you without the acute care unless you have 1 year+ experience in LTC. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences.:)

Trying to find right CNA program-Please Help!
I took the CNA class in Sept. and got my certificate in Nov. 09. I am currently in acute care, and that class finishes at the end of Jan. NOCROP does have CNA without HHA. Also, acute care/cna. As far as the HHA, that you have to be a CNA first with a CNA certificate. That class was canceled this past semester due to it being fee-based and they did not have 25 people willing to pay the fee. You do have to wait in a line, and the line can be long. I got there at 4am and there were a few dozen in front of me. High schoolers take priority in ROP now, so keep that in mind as the summer sessions fill up with them. But, it has been a good experience and clinicals are great.

Trying to find right CNA program-Please Help!
I did my cna at NOCROP. It was a great experience. As far as acute care, hospital jobs, they want you to have the certificate or 1 year experience.

Hello Dawn, Glad to see you here. Have you been researching schools near you? In your area there seems to be some good programs. Let me know which ones your considering. Also, don't forget to look into ROP near you. Much more affordable, but very competitive. Well worth it though. You are one smart lady, will do great. I have found great info. here @ allnurses. You are in good hands. Keep in touch, my friend.:redpinkhe

Yes, I do plan on staying in esthetics. I made a declaration last year I would follow threw with my dreams of becoming a nurse. I was a candystriper back in 1982 and that foundation has always resonated. My girls are grown, now is the time. I did CNA to get points for the program I'm going for. Now, I am in acute care @ St. Jude's Hospital for my clinicals and learning so much.:)

Has anyone heard of Career Care Institute?
Hi jmalabo, I am considering this school and need to make my decision in 2 days. I would be in the 3rd class starting in the south bay area. Was your a part time or full time program? How much homework should I expect? Any tips or pointers if you would chose this school again would be appreciated.
