  1. and here I am more worried about having my shoes vomited on by a patient... oh well!
  2. Buttercup, I'm the same. Always good on exams... even stuff I have no idea about. But essays etc... Bah!!! Well.. We covered the basics of the circulatory system and the respiratory system this week, and I'm now envisioning everyone full of vessels and the cardiac muscles and chambers of the heart, and lungs looking like microscopic bunches of grapes!! (ok, that description didn't help me!) and my buzz word (or phrase) at the moment is Myocardial Infarct... because it almost sounds like I'm swearing! (small things amuse small minds as they say!) Am also now paranoid about cardio vascular disease!!! And telling everyone to get their cholesterol and blood pressure checked... *sigh* the novetly will wear off soon... I feel like a space cadet!
  3. I can't wait for A&P!!! I love all that brainy biology stuff. Now "Work Effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders" is supposed to be a good challenge!!! But if I ended up doing EN, I get credit for it... WOOHOO!!
  4. Doing Cert III in Aged care, we only do 1 week clinical placement... it scares the hell out of me!!!! But everyone has to start somewhere. It's the old thing of "can't get a job without experience, but can't can't experience without a job"
  5. and thankyou for the welcome Janis :)
  6. I'm hoping eventually to go on to study Health Science (Social Science) at uni... Specifically studying the link between quality care (on all levels), socioeconomic status and emotional wellbeing. I grew up in a nursing household. I don't want to be an RN... I don't know how you do it!!
  7. Hi, I'm Alex. I've just started Cert III in Aged Care at TAFE... Single mum, juggling full time studies, two young children (both boys), school drop offs, daycare drop offs, (and pick ups!) a boyfriend, and two cats. If I can manage all this then I reckon I can make it as an AIN... ya reckon???
  8. I've just started Cert III Aged Care AIN at TAFE... First week was just orientation, can't wait to get stuck into it. Best thing is the wide range of ages and cultural backgrounds and experiences in the class (of about 20 students) and the different specialised areas of our various teachers. Makes for a much better learning experience.
