The First Days of Nursing School by the Fall 2009ers!!!
I will be starting the final semester in January! This has been one heck of a ride and we are on the downhill. I hope you all are doing well and are enjoying your winter break. I am stressed about the NCLEX but one step at a time. I can't believe we only have one semester left. Wishing you all the best!! Angie

The First Days of Nursing School by the Fall 2009ers!!!
I just finished my third day of class. It was three hours long and covered three chapters of Fundametals. We had a quiz over each chapter and I did a lot better than I expected. I only missed one, WOOHOO!! At this point I am not stressing as much. I really think it was the fear of the unknown. That fear is still there because there is still so much that I haven't experienced, but at least as far as lecture goes - I know I can do this with hard work. The material will get more complex but right now I am building my confidence and that will help me survive those difficult times. We start lab on Monday and I'm sure by the weekend my stress level will be on the rise again. For those that have started class I hope all is well and those that haven't I hope my comments are easing your nerves. :)) I am off to read the material for tomorrow and enjoy some "ME" time!! Oh, passing for us is 74% - scary stuff.

The First Days of Nursing School by the Fall 2009ers!!!
My first day was the 13th - just an orientation. They informed us then that our syllabus for Fundamentals is 99 pages. Today was my second day - we met the second year students and they gave us some pointers. It was great, they eased my mind a little bit. We also took basic tests - Fire Safety, HIPAA, TB, Chemical Safety, and BBP's. We were there from 8-4 and had a two hour break for lunch - to mingle. We have a quiz before every class and they will randomly pick 10 of them that will count towards our final grade. I have class from 8-11 tomorrow and there are actually three classes in that period, so 3 quizzes. YIPPEEEE!!!!! I best get back to reading!! Looking forward to hearing about everyone elses first days.
