2010 - UCSF / Stanford RN Residency Interview?
I just received a call from HR saying that the manager will call me for an interview sometime in the next week... This is for LPCH. Has anyone heard back? I totally thought they were done interviewing and had already chosen their final candidates to start in September. I'm nervous and excited at the same time since I never thought I would make it this far...

UCLA New Grad Program 2010
Hi! I met with the unit manager on 7/1 and was offered a position later during the day. I have no idea how many more positions are still available on the PICU since it's been awhile since I interviewed. She did say the start date is Aug 23 so you still have a month. Good luck to you!!

UCLA New Grad Program 2010
Hi Everyone, I've recently accepted a position at UCLA PICU! Does anyone know have any information regarding the hiring process (paperwork ,etc). The manager only told me to make an appointment with the health center to get my medical clearance. Other than that, she hasn't really said or sent me anything. Does anyone know what I should do? Thanks!

What do RN's make in California?
Re: What do RN's make in California? I work in the Sacramento area as a new grad (Graduated in Dec 2008, NCLEX in Feb 2009, Working in Sept 2009) and make a hourly of mid-forties. My classmates that were lucky enough to land a job in the Bay Area make around $50+ an hour. Just out of curiousity NurseCubanitaRN2b, why would you want to avoid a unionized hospital? I have worked in both unionized and non-unionized facilities, and would choose a unionized facility any day over the other option. Just curious about your reasoning? HI itsthegreeneyes, I have a few questions to ask you..I graduated DEC 2009, NCELX in FEB, 2010 and now there are no jobs for the new grad...I am wondering if it was just as hard for you to land a job in 2009 since you didn't start working 'til Sept 2009? All of the new grad positions are either put on hold or cancelled and these programs won't assume until summer 2010 and from what recruiters have been saying the spaces for these programs are VERY limited. Were you in a similar situation? I am so shocked at how DIFFICULT it is to find a RN job. I have a BSN, graduated at the top of my class....and I can't even get an interview. I've applied EVERYWHERE all over California. It's so discouraging. Do you have any tips? Thanks

Accepted FNP student at UCLA?
Hi, I am also interested in applying to UCLA FNP program. I earned a second bachelor in nursing from NYU with a GPA 3.5. What do you think of my chance of getting into UCLA FNP is? I heard it's very competative so I don't know if my GPA is considered good or not for the program. Also, HOW do you like the program? I want to know everything! Thanks :)
