  1. We have one doc that curses at you on the phone and one night he told our charge nurse "your the third call I've gotten I'm trying to shave". She said you just keep talking and let him know your documenting you contacted him with regards to the situation. He's well know for, if you call him he'll have your head.
  2. We give an amp of D50 then call the MD it is protocol at our hosp. People can go into a coma a die at that low of a BS. Plus most people end up dieing with sugar that low. An amp of D50 should have been first. Then a page to the MD with a recheck on the BS. If that patient went into a coma or died you could have been held medically liable for your actions.
  3. I hope your wife comes through everything fine. Your a very supportive husband reading all our comments about this. I just went to the store and bought alot of freezer stuff and easy to make food items. My husband wont eat unless you put it in front of him. So I believe he'll figure out how to microwave something or at best heat and stir. But I must say I bought my last pack of pads today :yeah::redpinkhe:redpinkhe:yeah: I'm anticipating some bleeding after the surgery, hopefully not much. Although, I know it sounds silly but I felt a little sad buying that last pack. Again, how silly is that.
  4. Please more updates this is very important and you are right! This boy needs some help and no one is giving it to him. The school should be ashamed that this is going on. Schools are more concerned about their star players, sports and fundrasiers, and don't care about teaching or the students anymore. Everyone's a number, Plus someone should be watching the cafeteria. I tell you I'd join the person who said above they would like to kiick this bullies butt. This is important, You need to help him when the other adults wouldn't.
  5. Congrats!!! Enjoy something you've missed during school. A nice dinner, time with family, catching up on reading for fun!!!! or catching up on your favorite shows! You deserve it! :w00t::cheers: :w00t:
  6. Thanks, everyone I am feeling better about this. I read the other side of the IV and got a little apprehensive about pacu. My surgery is going to be an abdominal one. I've never had a major surgery, except for a tvt but that was done as a lap. And a dnc and ablation that was vag. Again, being a patient is different than the nurse. I suspect this will also give me some insight to the other side as well. I guess I'm working up a case of nerves for no reason. I've got 2wks before the surg.
  7. Hi, I just needed support and comments on having a partial hysterectomy. I have to have one done due to my uterus prolapsing and having a fibroid the size of a 12 wk pregnancy. I'm 38 and have a grown son, no other children were on the horizon of dreams. I know it has to be done and just going through RN school I know all the book knowledge about it. I just wanted to have some input from other nurses who had this done and other nurses that specialize in this area, as to how personal life is afterward and how it will affect my job when I return back to work at the beginning. I know it takes 6wks to recover but those first few weeks how will I feel? It is one thing to be the caregiver but now I'm going to see what it is going to be like on the other side of the bed. Thanks for your info.
  8. All I can say is I purely hate the hessi I've studied and studied and I'm still having problems with it. ugh
  9. I faild the hesi for the second time. I was so close the first time and the second time not so good. And to make it all worse my husband said that I should just give it up because with not passing the first two times I won't pass it the third time. What help that does. I did look at what other's have said and I thought the test was simple and it came down to two choices and I obviously picked the wrong answers. I just need help and support.
