  1. Also, of those three options (nursing homes, hospitals, clinics) which facility generally pays better?
  2. Im an LPN student here in Missouri. I was wondering if anyone has anything to share on the starting salary for LPN's in that area for nursing homes, hospitals, and clinics. Thank you!
  3. I was asked in my interview for nursing school to rank the level of importance of the following things from 1-10. And they asked things like "your patient isnt eating", "your classmate takes money from a patient during clinicals", and one of them said "the doctor yells at you". I ranked it the lowest because I figured he'd get over it. But the thing is: I began to wonder how often that happens, why did they ask me if it isnt something Im certain to run into more than once? Cant you just report the doc? I mean, do they get away with that sort of thing?? I can see if you work in their family practice clinic maybe, but what about a hospital setting? Thanks for your responses.
  4. I have been accepted to an LPN program. But my question is, once I am working as an LPN, full time, is it going to be possible or realistic for me to finish up with my RN through an rn completion program (1 yr) while working as an LPN? Do you think that is taking on too much?? Any suggestions would be fantastic.
  5. Hey, Aurora, I would love to talk to you, Im about to trace your steps in the nursing program, and taking the A&P classes... please email me! I dont have enough posts to email you yet.
  6. Man-o-man. This is all good advice. I just know that those are the only classes I need to get into the nursing program. So I HAVE to take them. But if I dont take them next spring, then I wont make the deadline for when they start the nursing program. From what I understand the program is on a strict rotation, and If Im not in it come this june, then I will "miss the bus" so to speak, and I'll have to wait til' the following June...Pretty sure thats how it works. And I suppose I'll be screwed if I dont get good grades in those classes. Some of you indicated that it IS doable....I suppose youre right. Maybe Ill just get a part time job instead of a full time.
  7. Im not a nursing student yet. But Im about to go into this coming spring semester with a load of pre-reqs for the BSN. My question is: do any of you recommend taking 3 classes in addition to anatomy and physiology during the same semester? If I want to be in the actual nursing program by next June, I have to have Nutrition (intro), Intro to society, micorbiology, Anatomy, and Physiology. And I will have to take all of those next spring. So Im just wondering if anyone has ever handled a load like that, and if I need to be that worried about anatomy and physiology. Thanks in advance for your responses.
