Anyone tried Medicall? I heard they are looking for nurses...

Any want to give it a try w/ Medicall? Requirements: * US RN: with active / valid US License such as New Mexico, Illinois, Vermont, New York, etc. and preferably with experience License/Certificate: * Registered Nurse a must * IELTS, CGFNS, NCLEX passers an advantage

I'm holding BSN in the Philippines. and got my RN in Philippines and Singapore, NCLEX passer in Vermont.. Now I'm trying to find an employer in USA.. Im a Dialysis nurse in Singapore for almost 5 years and prior to that OR nurse in the philippines for almost 4 years.. base on my data how are you going to assess it? And you mentioned H1b Visa, does it cover the whole family? meaning can I also Bring my wife and 2 year old son? Thank you so much.. I believe this was your post from another thread, with your credentials, I think you may have a better chance on finding an employer who will file for an H1b visa since you have a specialization (dialysis nursing) and you also have the experience to back it up. I think it will be best if you search for dialysis centers in the US and if you have the time give each of them a call and see what may happen. sorry about that...to answer your question, if and when you find an employer, make sure that they will be willing to wait for you to process the visascreen (everything in the world is negotiable it just depends on how you are going to convince them that you are worth the wait), or if not and if you have the means then go ahead and apply for a visascreen beforehand. That is to your own discretion. The only reason that I advised you not to process the visascreen yet is just to save money because it is still uncertain if you will be able to find an employer willing to hire you and file an application for your visa may it be H1b or other applicable visas. That for me is just being practical, but again if you are confident (and lucky enough) that you will be able to find an employer who will file for an H1b visa then go for it, take a risk and apply for a visascreen. Life, after all, is about taking chances and you, are the master of your own ship.

Now, if you will be able to find an employer who will be willing to file for this kind of visa in order for them to hire you, then that will be good for you, since you wont need to wait for the "que" as you have mentioned. I think what you meant was the waiting list for immigrant visa specifically under the EB3 category. For you to be included among the thousands if not millions of nurses waiting for the retrogression to be lifted, then you also need to find an employer who will file for one. Try to search about the retrogression issue here in this website and you will find a lot of information about it. Now, you mentioned that you have passed the NCLEX, NCLEX is only good in the United States and with the current situation that they have there, I doubt it if it will be easy for one to find an employer willing to file these visas regardless if it may be EB3 or H1B. What I can suggest is that, if you have the hospital experience which is usually required for you to be able to work abroad, is that you consider other countries as well. Try, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and countries in the Middle East as they are those countries who are in need of nurses. Canada, UK and USA are not that good of an option nowadays because of the global crisis that we are experiencing and other related issues. Also, these countries have a lot of graduate nurses who are really struggling to find a job in their respective country.

I have to say that you definitely need to have an employer first before you apply for a visa screen because you will only need one if you will already apply for a visa (thats why its a visa screen). This is to save money because as most of us know, there is still retrogression in the United States and we may be looking at a 10 year wait or more. That being said, visa screens only lasts for 5 or 6 years (not sure) but the point is if you apply now, there's a big chance that your visa screen will expire first before a visa gets available. It is safe to wait for the approval of your employers petition first before you apply for a visa screen, again, because of the retrogression. This is what I am doing now, since I am just waiting for the approval of my employers petition then what I will do is I will check the visa bulletin monthly to see how it is moving. Once I see the cutoff date becomes closer to my priority date then that will be the time that I will apply for a visa screen.

ummm...It seems that I was not able to receive anything that looks like a diploma from PRC...all I had was the Board Rating and the Certificate of Passing...I wonder where my Certificate of Registration went...must be in another mailbox aside from ours...good job:yeah::yeah:...anyways, is the Certificate of Registration the same with Philippine Board of Nursing Certificate???The reason why I am asking this is because an immigration lawyer is asking me to provide a copy of my "Phil. BON certificate..." now, to make sure that I will be sending the correct document, what I did was I had my Certificate of Passing and Board Rating scanned and had her look at it...I have not received any answers from them as of now, so I am trying to look for someone who has any idea regarding this so called "Philippine Board of Nursing Certificate..."

Actually the OP was stating a fact not an assumption. When the OP says green card he/she meant immigrant visas and to date the priority as per visa bulletin is still in 2002. As for the working visas, it will depend on your qualification because usually they only give this to those who have specialization (eg. dialysis nurse) and years of experience, having a post graduate degree is another thing. Do you have any of these? If you do then I would suggest that you look for agencies here in the Philippines because I heard that there are some agencies here who offer working visas for those who will qualify. Thanks for responding, but what do you mean by your first sentence?Just let it go and use the same info...I do not have any problem with regards to being employed in the US since I already have an employer and a petition is already being done for me. I just have an issue with regards to keeping my license whether active or inactive. I hope you would clarify what you meant with your first statement. Thanks again.

washington dc isn't a state but it's our countries capital. technically it isn't a state but it lies in both maryland and virginia. you intend to practice in washington dc? or do you mean washington state which is located on the west coast? you really should contact that bon and see what your options are. you want to make sure you have all your ceu's and make sure that they're accepted by the bon way before it expires. good luck oh sorry about that, didnt know that washington dc is not a us state, but yes thats where i obtained my license and also where i intend to practice. washington dc, the capital, where the white house is and not washington state. honestly, i was hoping that someone here could at least give me some advise regarding the paid inactive status which i have seen in their website before i call, because calling them is a bit expensive since i will be doing international call. calling without having any idea regarding all possible issues may eat a lot of time and not to say a lot of money specially if you will include the wait time before i will be connected to the correct department. on the other hand, if i will go with renewing my license and still remain active, i do need ceus. it will increase my knowledge and help me in the future but then again, it will be a lot of money out of my pocket. so again, i would like to hear from those who have at least a little idea on the different options that i can take on renewing my license in washington dc. btw, thanks for your reply nursecubanita and i am sorry if coining washington dc as a state somehow confused you but thats where i intend to work in the future.

who could have said it any better than you...you are the best silverdragon...always timely, ever informative...i commend you for that...however, the friend of the one asking on where they can apply for licensure has already taken the cgfns exam...this is the reason why i endorsed the state of dc, where i am currently licensed...i am not an american citizen nor have any type of visa with me, needless to say i do not have a ssn but this did not prevent the good state of dc on giving me a license and a hard one that is...what i mean to say is that since and when the op's friend passed the cgfns qualifying exam, he/she will be able to apply to the state of dc for licensure wherein a successful nclex exam will result to a license...and if not they can always try the state of vermont where they can have a license even without ssn or cgfns certificate...i just thought that if i will ever give a suggestion i would be more specific so as not to leave anyone with doubts and more questions in the end...

thank you, i know you will also do good on any of these exams if you put your best foot forward and remember the ONE from above... for the CGFNS result it will be on another line, the test name should say certification exam and it will show the test date, a hyperlink under CP diagnostic result which will show how you did on each category of the exam, the score and whether you passed or not...(passing is 400 above) for NCLEX, the only state that i know that can give you a license without SSN is vermont and i am sure with this...on my case i applied on DC (District of Columbia) because this is where my parents at...for DC, you will need a CGFNS certificate, so if your friend pass the CP exam as well as the english proficiency, he/she can apply on this state...just a reminder though, the att validity for DC is only for 3 months so you need to consider your preparation for the exam...to give you a heads up, i registered and submitted my application last march 30th, and they received it on the 9th of april, i registered to pearson by the end of april and i received my att on June 2...from there i scheduled an appointment for the exam on the 5th of august but had a change of heart and had it moved earlier, and made it on the 20th of July...after 24 hours i saw my name and licensed on the DC website...did not need to pay extra $8 for the pearson quick result... so my suggestion is you check Vermonts website or if you want i can send you the application package for DC...and ofcourse i will need your email address for that so just feel free to email me back...goodluck...

if you cannot find the result on the test link that means that the result is not out yet...as far as i can remember it may take more than a month or so...so for now lets just hope that your friend will have good results for this exam...to add up, this exam greatly prepares one on passing the NCLEX exam...for me the CGFNS qualifying exam was way much harder than the nclex...for me the fact that you are going to answer all 265 plus questions from CGFNS as compared to a minimum of 75 questions in NCLEX, makes the CP exam more demanding and difficult...btw i passed the NCLEX exam with a minimum of 75 questions so if your friend will get through CP then he/she has a great probability of passing the NCLEX exam as well...

I would suggest that you take a cab gowing to trident tower, just tell the driver to drop you off old shell maya station because most of them does not know where trident tower is...its just next to rcbc building and in front of BIR building in Buendia...the reason why i advise you to do this because this is what i did...there was a heavy traffic going to makati along buendia avenue specially during these times...(7am - 10 am)...now the cab drivers know other ways on how to go to rcbc plaza without going through the traffic...i cannot remember the exact time but just to give you a heads up it may take 30 minutes or so (coming from lrt taft) that is if you go another route aside from going to trident tower directly from buendia avenue...

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i was convinced that i had failed. i heard it is good cuz if you are convinced you passed that means you got really easy questions, which means you are below the passing level. cornpooh i am sorry that you got bad information. if a person comes out of the exam confident that they passed then maybe they were well prepared! i was confident and passed. i had some easy, difficult and some questions that maybe a martian on mars could answer better tham me. but your statement in #5 is untrue. what cornpooh mentioned above was right as per my experience...getting easy questions does not mean that you are failing or anything else...on my case, i answered approximately 7000 questions or maybe 10k just to prepare myself for this exam...and used a lot of resources but i did not opted for a review course...also, i recently took the cgfns qualifying exam which is a good indicator on passing the nclex, before applying for the nclex exam so if you will include the time that i prepaired for the cgfns exam that will total to 11mos (started reviewing september 2008, took the cgfns exam november 2008, and from then on continued prepairing for the nclex exam until i passed it july 2009). so thats a long time of hard work, sacrifices since i am also working while doing this, and preparation before i took the exam...and i think thats the reason why i found the exam a bit easy...but nonetheless, no one should underestimate it, and make sure that they are well prepared for this exam...and when i say prepared, it should be wholistically because this exam will require you to be very strong...mentally, physically, emotionally, and most importantly spiritually...
