I don't know if you are here or not
Dont make me cry.. This is exactly why I became a nurse...This is the beauty of this profession. It touches so many lives in a simple but lasting way. I had a situation similar to this also. The care I received during two of my hospital visits, reconfirmed my aspirations to be a nurse. Wow.. through all the stress we have to through stories like this give it all meaning.

RN-MSN program
Try Kean University as well as College of New Jersey. However you didnt state this in your message, but the programs usually require you have a bachelors in nursing or a bachelor degree in another field. I have applied for Kean's program.. still waiting for a response. Well good luck.. any other questions just ask.

Day clinical vs. Night clinical
Just a quick question. Those that have gone through clinical, in your experience have you learned more in day clinical vs. night clinical. I was told by a couple of students that they prefer to do day clinical because at night its much slower and a lot of the patients are sleep. Is the amount of learning different, do you get better experience during the day. Any comments????

Any Single Moms, Out There With Some Advice
One of the biggest things that was pulling me back from Nursing was the hours and being a single mother. Any other single moms out there with advice or there own stories on how they manage taking care of the kids, and working. How do you do the long hours?? How do you work the nights? Do you have Babysitters, other family, please let us other single mothers know. Most of all how do you balance the hours, work, kids, and yourself without going crazy. Another quick question are hospitals understanding to their employees with children. Give us some of your personal stories. Thanks

A & P 2 and Nursing I together, I am that CRAZY???
Hi, Everybody. I need some advice. PLEASE HELP. Im a 23 year mother of 3 year old twins. I plan on taking Anatomy and Physiology 2 along with Nursing I, starting in Jan.2005. Is this impossible??? Yes, I am a mother of 3 year old twins, but I have the fortune to not have to work, although I WILL BE BROKE. I have a WONDERFUL support system. Many students at my school have been telling me Im going to fail, and I need to just take them separate. At my school A & P 2 must be done before Nursing I or you can take it at the same time. Basically, with my hard work, dedication, not having to work, and excellent support system is this possible. I really want to do this, I hate to rush it but sometimes I feel like you gotta do what you gotta do even though I know I will be VERY VERY VERY VERY STRESSED!!!!

THE QUESTION US STUDENTS REALLY WANT TO KNOW?? Starting Salary and What State.
Thanks to everybody for their responses. I just want to clarify and actually agree with a previous post. NO being a nurse for me is not about the money. Going into the profession, I knew the money was not the BEST. But Its nice to know your compensation for the hard workthat is done even though its hard work you WANT to do.

ARE THERE ANY NURSES OUT THERE THAT ACTUALLY "ENJOY" or HAPPY WITH THEIR JOB.
I just want to say thank you for everyone's great feedback. Nursing is not the only job that is "stressfull". There are many other professions that are stressing. Its a great and wonderfull rewarding career. Everyones comments are getting me even more excited. Thanks

ARE THERE ANY NURSES OUT THERE THAT ACTUALLY "ENJOY" or HAPPY WITH THEIR JOB.
Its kinda of scary reading a lot of the posts on here. It seems as if, so many nurses are not satisfied with their careers. So many people are so tired, aggrevated or stressed. This is so discouraging because, nursing has been a dream that I have felt for so long now. Im currently in my second semester and so far loving it, but is that all going to change once I graduate? Does everyone hate it, is any one happy??? PLEASE SHARE SOME POSITIVE STORIES IF THERE ARE ANY?????

Promise to work contracts with hospitals
I believe UMDNJ in Newark, has a BSN program that will pay for your tuition if you sign a contract for 3 years with them. Look into it.

Can Someone Help Me???
CAN SOMEONE HELP ME Hi, Im a 23 year old mother of 2 year old twins. I just got accepted in to nursing school. My question is I generally hear that nurses have set hours between 7am and 3pm or 3pm and 11pm. How true is this? and second what do mothers that have young children do? With those type of hours how do you get the kids up in the morning and drop them off at the daycare. I could understand if they were school age, but they are not. Are hospitals more understanding when you have children?? Please help, cause Im starting to wonder if this career is best for me. Thanks Crystal
