  1. I agree with the setting up a "study spot". I have two little ones running around so if I need to study when they are awake I go into the office and they know that mommy is working on school stuff and to go to daddy if they need something at that point. I also try and study later at night when the house is calm and quiet. Hope this helps a little.
  2. Thanks for all the input. I do totally agree with the fact that I need to take it out. I think I just wanted to hear it from someone else. It's funny tho I am working for the air force right now as a civilian of course and they could care less here, yet I don't want to wear it to class for fear of being judged. Silly! Thanks again for the input.
  3. Mydee, I'm not in the same boat, but I can say make every min. you have with him count. I am 29, work full time, go to school over full time-17 credit hours, have a husband who will be deploying in 3 months, and have a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. Anything can be done if you have the motivation! If you really like him go for it. Yeah you may only see him once a week, but make that time fun. You may have to study at one in the morning so that you can see him and have dinner together... Put in the effort and it will be worth it. Just my tho. Good luck.
  4. good afternoon all. i start my cna class this weekend and was wondering if i could leave my nose stud in until it is time for clinicals in a couple months. i know i have to take it out for that, but what is the opinion of the group on a student with facial piercings? am i setting myself up to me looked down on from day one and just need to take them out? is there a policy in the skills lab that they have to be out? the class is a ppcc in co, but any advise is appreciated. thanks.
  5. Hi. I started A&P I last night and I have to say I am probably just as scared as you. I know how to study I think it is just the "you have to do well" mentality that is freaking me out. We can do this!!! Good luck to everyone else in the same boat.
  6. I do, I do! I'm taking algebra, A&P I, dev. psy, and my CNA class. Good luck to you.
  7. I'm in too. Also taking algebra, dev psy, and my CNA class. I have a 2 and 3 yr old and work full time. Oh and did I mention my hubby is deploying in Nov? It's gonna be a "fun" semester. Wish everyone luck and lets keep in touch for support and study help.
  8. Comment on bringing in ads from other stores to wal-mart... Yes you can do this. It is the ads from other stores in your area. I actually was behind a lady the other night that had a couple pages of the ad prices written down. The cashier said she does it all the time and they don't even make her bring the ads in anymore becasue she does this so often. She had a cart full of name brand items and it was under $100. She was getting Kelloggs cereal for $1.97 a box!!! I have to say I am the person that drives to three different stores to save a few bucks, but now I am gonna try the Wal-mart thing. Anything to save some
  9. I start my class on 22 Aug and I'm already getting ! I'm sure you'll do just fine though. Good luck and let us know how it's going. Have fun!
  10. I worked in a Dr. office that had MA's running the office and a PA that pretty much did everything the Dr. did but with his own pts. Do you really think that being an MA or a PA would be less work? Maybe it was just the office I was in but the MA's ran like crazy and always worked 10-12 hour shifts. And the PA... lets just say his 2 year old son didn't really know who he was b/c he was never home. I have to agree that the LPN plan sounds better to me than the MA for you. Just my
  11. If you want it do it! I had to start at the lowest math the college I go to offered, but I am now 2 classes in and have gotten nothing but A's. I never did well in math in high school and was super scared to start math in college but I'm doing fine. All I can say is give it a shot!
  12. campusbooks.com, you can price different sites and different version on this website. There are lots of sites if you google "cheap college textbooks" You can sometimes find the int. version on e-bay also. Hope this helps. All about saving the :twocents:
  13. Coloradogirl, Not sure if that is the same book. MIne doesn't come in a package deal so it is prob. a different book. I was able to find the main textbook in an international version. I got it in the mail last night and it looks the same as the US version. It was only $70.
  14. i just got my book list for a&p i this fall and there are 6 books including the lab man. there are only three required, but i wanted to know if the optional ones helped anyone else... they are a&p revealed, clinical atlas of human anatomy, and atlas of skeletal muscles. thanks for any input.
