TEAS V Question
Thank you all! Jenny, I did email you. Live.dream.smile - I'm just in a rough patch. I do medical transcription, changed jobs before Christmas and was pretty much screwed over by the company to the point that I have been with them 3 months and still haven't made (total) what I made in 1 month at my previous job. Things are going okay now, but I have bills to catch up on. I did try my local library and everything.

TEAS V Question
Thank you so much! I'm trying to cover everything I possibly can. I'm most concerned about the science, but have made a ton of flashcards. Hopefully they will help.

TEAS V Question
You're welcome and thanks! Please come back and let me know how helpful they were for the test. I'm going to wait until next month to take the test. I need as much study time as possible. Also, do you know after you take the test if you get your results right away or do you have to wait?

TEAS V Question
I cannot afford to purchase the TEAS V studyguide. Therefore, I have been scouring the internet and have come across quizlet. I have made flashcards using all the TEAS one listed here http://quizlet.com/user/mj_rios/ and also made flashcards using these http://quizlet.com/6029141/teas-v-practice-question-flash-cards/. If anyone could look at these, maybe just the last link since there are so many to both, and let me know if you think that covers enough, I would greatly appreciate it! I think I now have over 400 flashcards. lol I went to the TEAS site and did the little free practice exam for science 1 and didn't know quite a few. On a side note, I haven't spent a lot of time studying my flashcards yet, so hopefully that will help. I really need as high of a score as I can get so I can get in the program this fall. TIA!

GED book for TEAS?
Has anybody only used the GED book to study for the TEAS and not the TEAS study guide? If so, let me know how you did. I just cannot get the TEAS right now and need to test in the next 2-4 weeks. My school's library had the new GED book and I wondered how well it would work. I also have a McGraw-Hill book for nursing entrance exams. Any help, ideas, advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! TIA!

Lpn program in the grater peoria, pekin or canton area?
Galesburg is about 45 minutes from Peoria with LPN and RN programs at Carl Sandburg College, but ICC in Peoria is a lot cheaper!

New here with a couple of questions.
Thanks! I won't be applying to St. Francis and I'm not so sure about Methodist now. One, I won't have the pre-reqs required by St. Francis. Methodist now has a 4-year, don't have to have the 60 credit hours of pre-reqs or whatever it was. My main thing is the money. I won't get financial aid, so I will probably just go to my community college for nursing, but when I get my ADN, I will then go on to St. Francis or Methodist for my BSN. Good luck to you!!! :)

Please help me with this....
If you are in Illinois, there are 21 and I think there is a pdf you can download from the healthcare worker registry. If not, let me know, I have the list here.

Update on my CNA recertification.
Thanks! Like I said, I don't get to test until July, which stinks, but I'm getting there. lol

Need help getting etting money (help) for CNA classes
Also, check Craigslist and the paper for yard sales. I found some scrubs on craigslist the other day, very reasonably priced. My mom recently bought some at our local Farm King. She said they were priced low as well. Also, if you have a Gordmans, they have some, just not much of a selection.

Update on my CNA recertification.
As some of you know, I posted here about recertifying my CNA in Illinois. I did get my packet from the state, have mailed off the background check form, and last night had the skills examination. I passed. I was nervous, then not nervous, then nervous, then not nervous. Yeah, it was pretty crazy. Anyway, I have to mail my form from passing and the background check back to the healthcare worker registry, then they send me a form I have to send to SIU to take the written exam, which I will take some time in July. So, I'm getting there. Can anybody tell me how the written exam compared to the practice exam on the nurse aide testing website? I only missed 1 on it last time I took it. I've taken it a few times and it doesn't seem that hard. I just wonder how it compares to the actual written exam. Thanks!

Renewing CNA

Renewing CNA
Where are you at in Illinois?

CNA practice test question.
I will. I have a little more than 2 weeks to prepare for the skills evaluation. I should be okay, but closer to test time, I'll be a nervous wreck. LOL

CNA practice test question.
Thanks! I was hoping to take it next month, but I'm going to have to wait until July. I won't have all my paperwork back to send it in by the postmark date. Oh well. lol Thanks again!

CNA pre-req class- really unsure about it
Actually, it may not bother you as much as you think. My mom bugged me and bugged me years ago to get my CNA. I didn't want any part of it, thought my stomach couldn't handle it. I ended up taking the CNA and absolutely loved it. You do get used to it over time, but I don't know that you'll see a whole lot while in the CNA program and doing clinicals. I think you'll be okay. Just keep reminding yourself that you're going to work in a clinic someday and that will help you get through it.

Renewing CNA
He will have to call the Illinois Department of Public Health. They will tell him if he will be allowed to recertify or not. I just got my packet last week. I worked from '92-'99 as a CNA and haven't worked as one since. They should let him certify and mail him a packet. In the packet, he will get a form to send to Chicago for a background check. He will also have to pass a 21 manual skills evaluation. They will send a study guide for this, along with the names of a few evaluators in your area. Once he passes that and gets his background check form back, he will have to send those to Springfield. From there, he will get a verification form that he can test and will have a form to send off to SIU-C. After that, he will get a form of the dates he can test. The deadline for June testing is May 16th. If he calls and gets everything done, and gets the form to SIU-C postmarked by June 20th, he will be able to test mid July. The lady I talked to was very nice. It did take a while to get through, though. This site will help if he has questions. There is also a practice exam on here. http://www.nurseaidetesting.com/

CNA practice test question.
I'm recertifying my CNA in Illinois. I have received my packet from the Illinois Department of Health. I'm waiting to hear back on where the closest evaluator is to me for the manual skills exam. Anyway, I took the practice test online and scored at 92%. Two I missed due to misreading the questions. I know, take my time, but I was kind of working when I was reading them. Unfortunately, it does not tell you what the cut off is for pass/fail. Can anybody tell me whether they took the practice test and passed the state test? I wondered if the practice test was similar at all to the state exam. Thanks!

Online Nutrition class please!!
Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg, IL still has openings in the fall for its online nutrition course. Sorry, the summer ones are full. Also check Illinois Community College in Peoria, Il. They offer it online, but I cannot find information online as to whether it is full or not.

This is the greatest website ever!!!!!!!!
Well, thanks to this site, I found out I do not have to re-take the CNA (took it in 1992 and worked until 1999). That saved me $900!!!!! Plus, I can start the pre-reqs earlier for the BSN program I'm applying to. You have to have 30 credit hours (off their list of classes) done before applying. If I wouldn't have found out about being able to re-certify, I would have to wait another 9 months to apply to the BSN program! I'm extremely excited!

New here with a couple of questions.
Anybody here taking the pre-reqs for Methodist or St. Francis CON in Peoria, IL? I'm just getting back to school, have the CNA this summer at the local community college. Also, if anybody has been accepted to either of those, you can pass along advice if you would like. I would appreciate it! Thanks!
