  1. I don't know about advice but I can relate. I had to call off an engagment because nursing school took up so much of my time! Im not complaining though- I'd rather be a nurse than to have a lame husband.
  2. In a competitive field like nursing, employers aren't even going to want to deal with you if there are too many hoops to jump through. There are plenty of vaccinated nurses and nursing students out there who are ready to work. I am not saying this in judgement because I am someone who went through school with a religious waiver for vaccinations. But for nursing school I gave in and got every vaccination at once. I had 103 fever every time I received them. So if you can find a way around this, share it with the world. But most likely the schools are very very strict with their policies and will not even accept your application. And I would do anything to be a nurse!
  3. I am almost in tears in finding a forum where people are experiencing exactly what i am in the process of applying to nursing school. It is so not easy to get in- prereqs, immunizations, hesi test, long waiting times. Each stumbling block i run into makes me work harder for acheiving that Rn degree i am coveting. CAN I GET AN AMEN!
  4. I gave my three weeks notice last week at my job. There is no way I could work and go to school to finish my prereqs-just one semester left. So hopefully I can make it through the summer. It felt so good to know I'm leaving my job and pursuing my dream. Student loans and my parents are helping me through this tough economic time.
  5. I am going to be taking the Hesi in two months and want to make sure I am prepared. I bought the study guide and did well on all of the practice tests. The only thing I'm wondering about is the chemistry section. Do I have to take it or is for some other degree (im trying to get into nursing program at my school) What kinds of things do you have to know not in the study guide?
