  1. yes! thank you very much for your help.
  2. janfrn, i am about to start the lpn program, but i am researching information for future reference. yes, i will be doing the lpn and then the rn, which it'll be a lpn to rn bridge. and yes i recall reading about at least one year experience. again, thank you
  3. is there a lpn shortage in canada at the moment:confused: i was thinking of applying under the skilled workers after having the rn degree. by that time i would have had a year in lpn and a bridge to rn, then move to canada, work there and go to school for the bsn. ps. for personal reasons i won't be able to do the bsn in the us. thank you
  4. siverdragon, i'm thinking that if i do the lpn (one year diploma) and the bridge to rn (another year), in the us that will give me enough requisites to enter a canadian college to do my bsn. i have about two years in the us and then for personal reasons i would have to leave the us. i won't have time to do the bsn in the us. i am looking to move to ontario, although my husband suffers a bit from arthritis and perhaps a province where is not that cold could benefit him. do you know any provinces where winter are not all that bad, or just for a couple to 4 months only? i apologize for the confusion
  5. hey silverdragon, you are always there to give your wise advise. so, you think that i should do the rn in the us and then apply for colleges in canada to do my bsn:confused: some colleges said that the student must hold a canadian rpn license, others said that a student must hold a rn license. therefore, if i hold the rn license in the us, when going there, i would have to sit for the nclex-pn versus the nclex-rn, because i wouln't have the bsn degree required per canada, right:confused: very confusing and not getting any better:imbar thank you
  6. is anyone familiar with the study abroad canadian visa process:confused: my husband and i want to move to canada. i am an lpn student in the us. i can't apply under the skilled worker since i don't have a bsn. but, what if i continue my studies in canada? i have been looking online at different canadian colleges and i have found a few that are post-lpn. now will the us lpn be enough to transfer to a canadian college or should i do the rn in the us and then go ahead and transfer:confused: i apologize i am very confused at the moment:confused:
  7. how do i go directly into med. surg.? i am currently doing my lpn which will take care of all the pre-requisites to get into nursing school. also, should i do the lpn bridge to rn when i get my license or should i start from rock bottom-as? thank you
  8. i want to get the maximum experience that i can while in school in order to have a better job window. thank you
  9. what's the best nursing route to go if i want the max out of nursing experience? example: er ob med. surg. icu pediatrics cardio. etc
  10. so, in other words this is not likely to be possible at the moment with the whole shortage? what about hospitals outside of the city area? where there's not a lot of people and hospitals tend to be smaller? just a thought.
  11. [color=olive]i think she wants to become an rn but would like to get hands on experience in the meantime. she is thinking of doing her lpn and go straight for the rn right after, but working in the medical field as a lpn in the meantime, in order to gain experience. any advise, as far as, other ways of gaining experience:confused: thank you!
  12. [color=olive]does anyone know if the lpn program is offered at either peoria, pekin or canton? my sister wants to relocate to either one of these cities but only if she could get her lpn degree there. any information is greatly appreciated!!:wink2:
  13. [color=olive]i will be taking the lpn to rn bridge in the us, but i'm not sure if i should do the rn to bsn bridge in the us or just do the bsn in the uk. i really don't know how it all works there. once a eu citizen, will i be able to practice among all 27 countries? or will i have to be certified on every one of them? again, i don't know how it all works i have been all day on the internet trying to figure this out and so far not so good. thank you ...again and again.
  14. [color=olive]i can't seem to find any information pertaining to prerequites for the bsn in the uk. is anyone familiar with this type of information:confused: thank you...again:)
  15. [color=olive]i am doing my lpn in the us and i'm planing on doing the rn as well. after the rn i might move to europe, uk perhaps, or italy, i have not decided yet. i am a eu citizen through blood, my paperwork is in progress. my question is, if i already am a rn in the us will i have to start from zero in the uk or will those studies qualify for some of the prerequisites? anyone knows how long the program takes? and how much it costs? i have no idea how it works there, any information is highly appreciated. thank you
