  4. hey FLmomof5, if possible could you send me a PM about working at East Cooper? I'm in Mt. P and looking for a job and would love to pick your brain, thanks!
  5. see you there! haha DUH!!! this is four years old...oh well, same lecture this year!
  6. I'm in a 15 month program and can say that the month off in the summer was certainly appreciated, when comparing programs I also found the NCLEX pass rates corresponded to the length of the program
  7. haha i wouldn't sweat the chapters, read them over if you want, but I think the general concepts are what's important, throughout this program I have mostly skimmed the chapters and then concentrated on what was covered in class
  8. A gentleman would hold the door for anyone. It seems like manners and common courtesy have been going out the window for quite some time!
  9. Studying for my psychiatric nursing final tomorrow, last one and then off for a month! then one semester to go until graduation from my Accel BSN!!
  10. sorry guys but no go on the school's gym, tried talking to different admin. folks but no progress was made, i guess because we don't pay the full campus fees we don't have access to the gym, also, are you guys gonna be at the Oct. 18th open house? i think myself and a few other current students are gonna drop in for some informal Q&A without any faculty present
  11. Hey Christina, I actually live in Cleveland Circle and a couple other people live in Brighton, the commute is NO problem! It seems we go to and from school at just the right time to miss traffic, I usually take route 9 west and then 128, super fast, about 30 min. And yes, there is quite a bit of independent study, but if you knock out material every week you won't be pulling all nighters for the exams. Good luck and have fun! brendan
  12. hey congrats guys! I'm currently finishing up my first semester in the ACCEL program at Curry and I LOVE IT! Your classmates are going to be amazing and so far the program has been a blast. Here is a little breakdown of what the past semester has been like... Tuesdays Start with Nursing Care of Children (great class and teacher, lots of info, but def. interesting) Break for lunch Afternoon Health Assessment, then assessment lab (another fun class and teacher) Wednesday Nursing Lab (a chance to get your hands on all kinds of stuff, more amazing faculty) Thursday Start with Nursing Care of Adults (what can I say, this teacher is just great, fun class) Break for lunch Afternoon Pathophysiology (not as bad as it sounds and the teacher is maybe my fav. so far!) Just gearing up for finals next week!!! Most are worth 30% of our grade so def. have to put some time in now. The best advice I have received came from someone who spoke at my orientation(sorry can't remember your name!) and she said you can either... A.) Be stressed out all the time about the tests and every little detail or... B.) Enjoy your classes and the knowledge that you gain will be valuable throughout your career, A's are not everything, better to enjoy your time at school and make some lifelong friends! If you guys need any more info feel free to contact me, congrats again and good luck!!!
  13. Hey guys! my first post and a happy one at that! got my acceptance letter about a week ago, totally psyched for Curry, great program, great professors, excellent reputation, and about $40,000 less than the program I applied to at Northeastern! I wish all of you the best of luck!
