Hi how are you? I have an approved i140 last year and I know currently the visa numbers are backlogged to 2003, Since RN's are under EB3 category, visa bulletin posts their updates every month. My priority date is 2009 so based from what they are processing i have about 6 years of waiting. It all depends on what year they are processing under EB3. Anyway, I read some of the posts on this thread, re: masters degree. It's true that having a masters degree as a "Nurse" helps, because the visa numbers for EB2 is current. The determining factor is not only having/acquiring a masters but finding an employer who is willing to sponsor for an upper management position. To those who are waiting as well, re-read the fine print in your contracts on what it entails. While waiting have a back up plan and be productive wherever you are. Doors are always open for other options. A long wait is expected.. it's all out of our hands. Think of it this way, atleast you already have ur i140 approved. so you have 1 option for the future. Sure no prob! never lose hope ayt? dont worry about OPT, I'm sure whats important is ur education qualification , coz thats where ur nursing foundation is from. There's no harm in trying so don't hesitate. cheers!

Hey alex88! re: prior clinical work experience requirement, it's best to contact and ask them about it :) Telephone: +61 3 8635 1200 Email: [email protected] when i applied last year I had over a year of clinical work experience and I didn't know anyone else then who applied, that's how i found this thread. which didn't really help my cause, but that didn't stop me from trying :) mine took about 6 months, it's really case to case basis and it may also depend on the load of their received applications. As for July 2010 the website for the national registration is very vague at this time, so nobody really knows how it's gonna be.. 1 way of looking at it, is if u apply now, u know the requirements for foreign nurses as opposed to july?? while ur in usa if u still have OPT go ahead and try to get a job, it may be hard at this time but experience is really important, specially when moving to another country is ur goal, better to exhaust all ur options while ur there. good luck!

no u dont need a bachelors degree, i recently just got my division 1 nursing registration with an ADN. cheers!

FYI . I just got licensed with nurses board of victoria so yeah they will evaluate ur educational background and american educated nurses with associates degree don't worry! we are qualified just fine..

tnx hardboiledegg =) we have a similar situation i graduated fr. georgia also an international student just finished OPT as an RN now im back to my home country, i recently contacted a nursing agency in australia and thy did tell me to contact the nursing board to make sure they wont be requiring a BSN degree..which im planning to do tomorrow,, which nursing board in australia was it? thank you!!! hoping to hear fro you soo!
