Need help - PAP, PAOP, CVP
I am preparing for a certification and encounter questions about PAP, PAOP, CVP. I work in IMCU not ICU and therefore have little contact with above measures. I know the normal ranges but have difficulty answering for example a specific question. Your patient with an IWMI also has RV infarction. He soon develops RV failure. Which of the following data would correlate this: A. PAP 54/28 PAOP 14 CVP14 B. PAP 23/8 PAOP 19 CVP20 C. PAP 28/10 PAOP 10 CVP20 D. PAP 54/18 PAOP 24 CVP5 C is the correct answer and I had chosen B. Can someone explain this to me, a good rational, what is happening here......?

Australian RN wants to work in USA
I came from Germany with RN lisence and had to go through credential eval and take the NCLEX. Been in a nursing program for foreign nurse here in the U.S., choice of my own, for one year and we had nurses from 8 different countries. All had to go through the same process. There are credential eval services in Philadelphia, and two in CA. I would, if you have to go through the same process recommend, Philadelphia and in CA ERES, not IERF, they make everything very difficult. And as far as I understand, once you have a green card, you also have work authorisation.

Difference in US to Australian scope of practise
Thank you for your reply. I am a bit surprised that there is not exam to be taken. I went to the website you referred to and i ran into another question i did not really find an anwer for. What is the difference between a RN devision 1 and 2? is it simply RN with bachlor or associate degree? Do you have to have a bachlor's degree in order to be able to work in Australia? I am still about 3 years away from eventually moving to Australia so i would have plenty of time to get a bachlor degree. If i wanted to contact someone at a nursing board in Australia to ask specific questionsk, that would be near Adelaide or that area, how would i find out about that? Thanks, Karin

Difference in US to Australian scope of practise
Hi there, i started of as an CNA/ ER Tech in the US after coming from Germany about 5 1/2 years ago as an RN from there. I work for the last 16month as RN in progressive care/IMCU, but am also required to float to any other floor in the hospital as needed, including ICU and ER. I've read through several posts here, but could not really find an answer to my question. For one i would like to know what distinguishes the scope of practise from the US to Australia? If you want to transfer as an American RN to Australia, do you have to take the Australian nursing exam, and if so, is it similar to the NCLEX in the US? Thanks for your replies!!! Karin

Do you know any hospitals in OR that hire international nurse grads?
Hi, I am an international nurse as well, from Germany. What evaluation service did you use to get your credentials evaluated? I am in a program, here in Oregon, called: workforce improvement with immigrant nurses (WIN), have you heard about it? There is a also a girl from the Ukraine in my class. We are about to graduate on the 3rd of November. Did you take any classes or did you just study on your own and took the NCLEX? Karin
