What Personalioty Does Best in ICU Nursing?
Hi Jackie, By the sounds of it, you have the right stuff! Being organised and time management are very important The thing is you'll know within the first few days whether you like it or not. It's not for the feint hearted, and that's what seperates us from the rest!!

Freaky Things
My story isn't set in a hospital enviroment, but it happend when I was still a nursing student. A longtime friend of my gran was terminal with Ca breast. I visited her once while she was sick and cared for at home. That day she gave me all of her nursing certificates and documents that she considered important to her, because she was thrilled that I had decided to become a nurse. Anyway a few weeks later I had a dream that I saw her and she was fine ( she had bilat mastectomy). She was happy and cheerfull and when I asked her how she was doing, she said that she felt fantastic. She gave me a hug and off she went! Needless to say that when I spoke to my mom later that day, she said that aunt Lou had died early that morning, I said "I know, she came to me early this morning to say goodbye"

24 Things ER Nurses Know All Too Well
# When patient tell you (the triage RN) one thing and when the doctor examines them they change their story completely! Making you look like an idiot, 'cause you didn't do an EKG on the patient who is having chest pain!!! :angryfire # When you are talking to the patient who is wide awake and orientated and a self-designated interpretor keeps answering you, despite your best attempts to ignore them completely

What was the MOST ridiculous thing a patient came to the ER for?
Hehehehe.... 1) Most often UTI's 2) Mother to 3yr old "You have stomach a ache!" tell the nurse. The child is saying "No I don't!" Mom "Yes you do" Kid "No not me!'' WTH?? 3) People that come in for "check up's" during the busiest time of the day (ofcourse there's nothing wrong with them, it's just in case!) 4) Coming in on Friday asking for a sick note for the following week, when all you have is a headache 5) Headaches... no not a migrane headache!:lol_hitti
