hey laura06baby, i was just wondering if you took the online nutrition and class and please can you tell me what the requirements/procedure is? can i just register for 1 class i.e the nutrition class?

is it just me or is it really difficult finding an LPN job in NJ?

thanks a lot pagandeva2000, in as much as i do not want to sign up with agencies; i can't seem to find a job anywhere as an LPN with no work experience and that was why i signed up with carelineservices and axion, so far, i haven't had any work yet since i just signed up with them a couple of days ago, now i am beginning to have second thoughts but i hope and pray i get sent to hospitals or nursing home where i can learn and gain the experience i really want, i really do not want to be in an uncomfortable situation......i hope i am as fortunate as you were as well. thanks

talking about agencies, they are the only ones hiring now as it is difficult for an LPN to get a job anywhere in northern NJ,especially without experience. no one is hiring and agencies seem promising? what about agencies sending you to hospitals or nursing homes? do you guys think one can get experience from there?

i am still actively searching but i resolved to using agencies since even nursing homes/ hospital require 1 year experience which i dont have and the agency asked me to send all my details since they know a lot of places in bergen county hiring lpns without experience but we just have to pass a pharmacology test, so i am praying something comes up soon because i am getting tired, i am also endorsing my license to ny maybe that will increase my chances of getting a job?

i am thinking of moving to ocean county because it seems they are the only ones with a lot of jobs for recent grads with no experience, does anyone know how much it costs to get a room around there? thanks!

finally! i got it it in the mail sooooooooooooooooooooo glad it's over with.

ok, i have waited for 30 days since i had my prints done and decided to call the board of nursing, i was given my license number over the phone and they told me it was mailed to me on the 2nd of april and i still haven't received it yet but im glad i can call and verify it even though it's not on the system yet and i can't do a licensee search but i know i have my license number!.... happy it's kinda over! thanks all!

omg! the actual license is colored paper? wao! i have a plastic license from AL, i guess NJ is real cheap? i better start looking for a job and hoping i 'll get the license in 3 weeks. thanks for the posts!

yes, it checks verification from the board of nursing since i graduated from a nursing school in the U.S. they are only awaiting the results of the background check according to the letter, i am hoping it should be over in the next 3 weeks....

hey, but why will they need additional documents? the welcome letter already states what they are waiting for, do u have an idea of what additional documents they might need?

wao! congratulations! is that the welcome letter or the letter with your license number and all? i got a letter saying welcome to NJ and that they are waiting for the results of my background check, i wonder how long the background check will take?

does anybody know the average lpn salary per hour? i think it ranges between $22/$24.50, is this the normal range?

i already put in my paperwork, they are so nice and polite on the phone and are ready to answer any questions regarding the application; i have to go for fingerprints as well as soon as my application is processed but it usually takes 6-8 weeks to process paperwork, so it's still thesame waiting game! it's not funny, i mean seriously, it is not funny at all!

yeah, i know! i am in NJ and i can't work or do anything but wait.... i am also waiting for my teaching license as well so i can teach and do health care but i can't do anything but wait.... and wait..... and wait....ha

yeah, i guess we are kinda in thesame boat, i took my nclex in alabama and i got my license in a week; i waited 7 weeks before i got my fingerprints appointment here in NJ; it's just frustrating waiting, and if they were nicer on the phone i think i won't feel that frustrated. we can't really do anything now but be patient and wait, it 'll come eventually! it just sucks how slow the whole process is but i am thankful my documents were not misplaced at least! imagine that?
