merri666 Re: East Mississippi State Hospital Alliance is an inpatient psychiatric hospital. They serve children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. I worked there when it was LaurelWood...I helped open the children's unit and I worked with adolescents until then. I loved it. The teen-agers can be hard to handle and even violent at times. You have to make decisions and be willing to stand by them. However, at the end of most days I felt like I had done some good. Anyway, Alliance is on Hwy 39 near the Hill St. intersection. It should be listed in the phone book. My understanding is that they always need nurses; I know they were using alot of agency at one time. If I still lived in the area, I would work there. If you enjoy psych nursing, it could be a good fit. If you are interested in medical nursing, Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian is hiring. Be warned, though, you will definitely stay VERY busy at Rush. (My son is a RN in the Meridian area so I keep up with what is going on. However, he works in Jackson now). Good luck! hi, im a secound courser nurse. i applied online for visa screen, they asked me to print the form for REQUEST FOR ACADEMIC RECORDS OF NURSES FOR VISA SCREEN and send it to my first school and second school, I'm wondering because the subjects listed on the form are all nursing subjects and my 1st course is dentistry so the subjects are all different. what will i do? will i still need to send the form to my 1st course school? thanks :)

oh i see thanks for the suggestion suzanne but yesterday i called BRN of IL and they said that i cannot apply for licensure by examination to them coz they also need SSN number to give me license so they said that i wait for my SSN number in cali and then endorse to them my cali license. Is that make sense? thanks again

Thanks for the reply no i don't have an SSN. I'm a foreign graduate nurse from the Phil., I'm thinking to start my VSC now so the process is moving while im here in US..then wait for the retrogression to be lifted in the phil.. And if it is lifted i will apply for licensure by examination to IL to transfer my results. Is that a nice idea suzanne?

I called the BRN of IL today, i asked them what am i need to prepare to endorse my nlcex results to them to get a license in IL, the woman i spoke to said that i need to get my license in CALI and have an SSN to endorse my license to them because even BRN of IL needs an SSN to give license to nurses. so i think that answers my question that i cannot apply for license in IL if i do not have an SSN.

Hi suzanne, i would like to ask what step will i do next? i just passed my NCLEX exam in cali and i want to endorse my results to the state of IL. I'm just wondering, will i endorse first my license before i do my visa screen? or the other way around?

i waited for 2 weeks because i don't have an SSN coz i'm a foreign graduate
