Consider acute dialysis
I started 8 month ago from bedside to acute dialysis I love the autonomy. It is stressful if a catheter is not working or a machine breaks down but it is a very specific work and you become an expert over time

BABY!!! GOOD POPUP!!!
Is it really correct that I passed our records indicate that you recently took an examen and you have to check with the minnesota board of nursing? I hated that test, it was really hard and it shut off after 75 questions

Should I bring my resume right to the nursing manager?
Hello Max Momma, congrats on your hospital job. I am graduating in 2 weeks, and I am a LPN like you with over 2 years experience. I work at a nursing home in the TCU parttime. I would like to work at a hospital too. Should I start applying without licence number or just wait until I have my NCLEX done. I do not want to get kicked out of an online system without licence number. I probably can work at the place I work now, but I would love to try at least to work at a hospital. Thank you in advance

LPN to RN nurses
Hello, I am a LPN since 2008, and I have worked in a bigger nursing home since that. I will finish my bridge program in May of this year. I have worked on 2 different floors at my nursing home, and I just changed to the TCU. I have worked every shift, every floor at my work. I think I have learned a lot, and I am also a little bit afraid of not being challenged once I will graduate and continue working as a RN at my work. But as said, economy is not the best right now for the job market as a new grad RN then, so that I am thinking about doing 2 different RN jobs parttime maybe, maybe in pediatric homecare to get some new experiences, since I love to learn. As much as I 'd like to work at a hospital, it might not be possible as a new grad though. Thanks for your posting

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
Hello, I have been a LPN for a year now, and I work currently parttime in longterm care. I have been at this place for 11 months now, and I work scheduled every other weekend, but always pick up 3 more shifts either noc or pm. On pm shifts I do mostly charge nurse. We have constant staff changes and it is exhausting at times. My husband travels during the week so that I only work weekends or Fridays. I start a LPN-RN program which lasts 18 months in Spring 2010. The first semester is only 2 days a week for transitional classes. I am wondering if it is worth to look for a different kind of job during the 3 weekdays I have no school until August. It is hard though to get in clinics without experience in clinics, longterm does not seem to count with this tough job market. I am also worried to not be able to find a job as a RN after graduating in May 2011 with a ADN and longterm care experience as LPN. Do you think that matters? Thank you

nurses not giving meds at correct times
I give pm and hs meds, but not together. PM I start at 3 pm for 30 resident and hs I start around 7 pm, in between I do some charting and treatments. When I am not able to get somebody at pm, depending on the med, I give them later, but I try to track the resident down and prepare the med to give. I am not giving meds together I mean pm and hs

:( Scared...
I will start too as a new nurse in LTC, I don't know how many I have, but they have 109 residents, and 3 or 4 nurses on the evening shift and 2 TMA's. I heard it is mostly med pass. I hope I will get the speed soon. I did have 40 residents with one partner on the night shift in TCU as an aide. Hopefully that will help. Any tips how to get speed safely in the beginning? Thank you

Quick results before nusing board
Hello, I took my NCLEX-PN in Mn on Friday 02/06/09 at 08.00 am. This morning at 9.00 am I could see pass on Quick results, but nothing on the Nursing board page. I thought my test was terrible, it shut off after 85 and I know I did many wrong. I even could not recall many questions because I had so much test anxiety. It is not good for me to think to much about a question and then decide for a different option. How sure is the unofficial result? I am still confused and can't look forward. I already bought a review course online in my panic to prepare for the 2nd try. I am not sure if I can't see the results on the board page because of the weekend? Could that be. Thank you so much caroline3
