I pity myself for being unemployed....
hey you're not the only one. i passed NLE with good ratings in 2007, passed NCLEX in 2008. I'm also a victim of the backer system. I volunteered for 1 year 6 mos at a private hospital while they keep on absorbing newly grads and passers with 3 mos volunteer experience.it's like a slap in the face everyday so i left. i'll use that as motivation.now i'm taking HAAD.:) oh just an advice, don't reveal that you are a passer of any international nursing exam if you are applying at a local hospital. you might think it's a plus because it shows competency but im telling you, that might keep you from getting hired.

Need Help About CA Pass Letter Urgent
i really learned a lot from you nursedandy, you rock! hi mabellegamino, oh, it's you again.. im planning to send my request for the candidate report by regular mail because that what most people i asked did... but if you want it through fedex i think you can do so but, i think you should use the BRN's Physical address, not the mailing address. Physical Address - fedex :) Board of Registered Nursing 1625 North Market Boulevard, Suite N217 Sacramento, CA 95834-1924 Mailing Address - reg. mail Board of Registered Nursing P.O. Box 944210 Sacramento, CA 94244-2100 I know that you got that idea of the photocopies of documents can be used in applying to VT, from fruity's thread right? but i still go with original/authenticated copies if i were you. i think jbc gave you the link for the Nclex passer application from VTprofessional site. you might wanna check that out, since your CA application will expire soon. i suggest you start early, although fruity got VT license in 1 month, i think you should give a time allowance, just in case... :)

Need Help About CA Pass Letter Urgent
to silverdragon: thanks for the reply. yes i received a letter but it's only a notification letter saying that i passed and completed the requirements except providing a SSN and my files will be destroyed w/in 3 years.. what i need is the pass letter known as the candidate report with my test results and pearsonvue photo, which they send only to those who failed the exams. but since i passed i have to request for those test results copies to nursedandy: Thank you very much for the info. i know now that the $60 is for the verification of license fees, not for the test results.. i read from other threads that it was $60 so i got confused. i also read that some of them payed $10 and received another notification letter:( so thanks again for confirming that it is indeed the candidate report. Can i request multiple copies of it? in my request letter i asked for 2 copies with $20 check.. thanks!

Filipino Nurses who passed the NCLEX without the help of Review Center
1. What are the materials that you used? - I used kaplan q&a,saunders comprehensive 4th edition, mosby q & a and some reference books from my college days and NLE review.. and a bunch of Nclex softwares but mainly i use kaplan question trainer, saunders 4th edition, nclex4000, lippincott 8th ed. and many more.. oh, and i listen to feuer mp3's a lot.. no online review.. 2. How many hours per day did you study? how many questions did u answer per day? - I read as much as i can,(cause i didn't have much time) sometimes 3 hours in the morning and another 3 hours in the afternoon, then at night about 4-6 hours(find your own absorbing time) . after each break i answer nclex softwares 75 items at a time..longest i remembered was 150 items which almost caused me to collapse.. never tried answering 265, because im not planning to answer 265.. when i feel my eyes hurt already, i listen to feuer lecture mp3's.. if i feel im not absorbing anything, i dont force it.. so it's not every day like that.. im not a robot ok? it depends on how i'm motivated.. 3. How many days or months in total you studied before taking the exam? - i only had 1 month to prepare,so i had to make the most of my time.. but 4 mos before, i intermittently answer test questions..but i only started reading 1 month before.. 4. What are the specific strategies that you used or the the test taking skills you applied during the exam? - Pray a lot, build up confidence, smile, breath, focus on what is asked, eliminate wrong answers and answer as fast as possible (coz i tend to overrationalize, and i know in the end i'll just stick with my first answer) 5. Take one or take two? - Take one at 1 hour 11 mins 85 items..

Got my VT License!!
original post from fruity: "request the director of your school of nursing (or other authorized officer) to complete the “verification of education” form, and return the form along with a certified copy of your transcript and clinical transcripts/related learning experience. ( not required for applicant’s applying with cgfns certificate)" i saw this on vt bon website so i decided to submit cgfns certificate so i don't have to go back and request the school for the other forms. shier: hi mabelle im also planning to apply a license to vt.. i don't have a cgfns certificate like fruity yet, so that means i have to request my school again for the requirements..

Got my VT License!!
may i ask how do i request for the pass letter and test results ? is it through by mail, e-mail or phone? all i have is the letter notifying me that i passed and requesting for me to pass the Social security number.. any reply would be appreciated..

Burning Question!
my understanding on that topic is when you care for a client post lobectomy, since there is still at least a lobe left on that lung, you put the client lying on the unaffected side, to allow maximum expansion of the remaining lobe.. with pneumonectomy, on the other hand, you put the client on the affected side to allow expansion of the remaining lung.. pls correct me if im wrong

Still no results after 8 days...
by the way, do you have a social security number already? because if you do not, there's no chance that they will show your name at http://www.rn.ca.gov. but if you do, it might be your fastest way to know if you passed.. hope that helps..

Still no results after 8 days...
i did not have any alternate format type question but one sata, no math questions for me(unfortunately for me, im a math guy),so i dont know why or where your instructor got that idea of a "no math nclex failed miserably thingy".. i got lots of priority and delegation questions and drugs.. (.. i took mine last dec. 20,08 and after an agonizing wait of more than a month, i recieved a thin letter (ca-brn) last january 27,09.. but the letter was mailed january 2, i dont know why it took that long to be delivered, so you may not be waiting too long, i mean 8 days is nothing yet(for me)..so just be positive about it. if you're thinking that you failed, you might just get it.. but definitely, you still got hope.. thread edited to remove specifics, per the agreement that you signed when you sat for the exam, nothing is to be posted anywhere as to what you had on your exam. this includes names of drugs. thanks for your understanding. suzanne4
