  1. Hi, How long have you wait til you get in? is it difficult to get into mercy college for ADN? I am going to apply there hopefully I can get in and I am planning the evening/weekend also..thank you!
  2. Hello VMSR, Thank you very much for the info. from what country are you? I am from Philippines, I am a permanent resident here in the US for 2 years now. I have a high school diploma and a college grades, but unfortunately my grades are not great. Do i need to submit it to WES or just send them directly to mercy college? I am really interested in getting into the nursing program at Mercy College but I have some worries, you know what I mean being foreign thinking if the professor and the students will laugh at me when I can't pronounce the word correctly or they will not like me at all. ohhh these thoughts are pulling me down...but anyway, are you in ADN or BSN route? what year are you now? What are the prerequisites?
  3. Hello, what are the prerequisites for BSN and ADN? and one more thing, I am foreign and I am not that fluent in speaking English, will my chances of getting in into the nursing program is very low? Thank you!
  4. Hi Edna! yes I am from the Phils. How long have you been there as a nurse? I was so glad i foud my kababayan in here. How are you?
  5. Yeah we can do it! nothing is impossible! good luck on your journey.
  6. Thank you for the encouragement TiffanyS23, I am super excited and can't wait to get started. yeah you are right its a lot harder with a little one but definitely worth it in the end.
  7. wow thanks for the reply! i know it wouldn't be easy on my part but i will take one at a time. you are right it will take a lot of sacrificing but worth it. I know i can do this, this is what i want and i will not quit. yeah CC offers childcare but my God the waiting list here in our CC is up to 2013. the other college that i want to get in with doesn't offer childcare but they do have nights and weekends classes.
  8. Thank you for the enlightenment..i will definitely do it. it is for my baby's future.
  9. Ohh really, that's great! I will also take one at a time it is easier for me that way.
  10. I see..yeah my husband told me in order to get a higher grades you should take less classes. that way, you have more time to study each subject.
  11. awesome! all A's? congratulations! you really did a great job! that would be my goal too.

I am planning to take my pre-reqs online. is it possible to take all online or you need to take some on campus? and how long will it takes to finish all the pre requisites? when are you gonna finish yours? Good luck to you momma! Thank you for the reply.
  16. Thanks for the reply. well good luck to your studies. as for me, yep i need to take it one at a time. my option is to go to weekends and night classes. for the pre-reqs., I have heard that you can take it online. so i guess that would work for me. Good luck to us!!
  17. Yeah were on the same boat..we can do this! and in my part, I really wanted to be a nurse since then though I am a little bit nervous about going to a nursing school because I know it is not that easy and it is very time consuming but I will still do it. Now, I am a stay at home mom and i am not happy about it. I want to have my own career and I just want to succeed in life and have my child look up to me as a good role model.. lets keep in touch then. We can do this for our kids!
  18. Hello. I will have a Baby on November and I am in the process of getting my ADN. would it be possible to study nursing and have a baby? how difficult would that be? To all the mommas here who went to a nursing school, how did you manage? did you have a hard time studying and passing? in my situation, i have no family here to look after my child and my husband is working 12hours a day. I am pretty sure the the baby sitter will cost me a lot of money too. Thank you for reading.
  19. Hello everyone, I'm going to take this CNA program at Great Lakes Urgent Care in Toledo Ohio area. My concern is, its only 2 weeks program, is this enough to become a CNA? I am looking for training centers that offers more than two weeks but got no chance finding one. Any ideas from CNA's in toledo area? Thank you so much.
  20. amjowens, thank you for the info. it really helps me a lot. I inquired at brown mackie college in findlay and i was so shocked because the woman their told me that i can enroll this march 2. but i was thinking if its a good school. anyway, is Practical Nursing same as ADN? because that's what they've got..Thanks again. God Bless!
  21. Good evening everyone, I would like to ask if anyone here has been enrolled at Owens Community College in Toledo? I've heard that Owens is a great college specially for nursing and their passing rate was 98% as well as the job placement was great. How many years you have waited to get in? and what are the pre-requisites? Thank you guys for reading.
  22. Hi everyone, I am lisa and hopefully taking up ADN this year. I will just ask of what nursing schools would you recommend here in Toledo area. Who among you here went to Owen's Community College? Does Owens better than Brown Mackie College, Lourdes College or Univ. of Toledo? I've heard that the Passing rate at Owens is 98% as well as the job placement, and owens is cheaper too. Another question is, is there a waiting list at Owen's and of all the colleges i mentioned above? what are the pre-reqs. at Owen's? Lastly, I will start my STNA next week for me to be able to gain an experience working in a Hospital or nursing home while going to my ADN program so i will just ask what is the pay for those who are working as an STNA in Toledo area? Thank you everyone for reading.
  23. Thank you caliotter3 for your response.
