  1. Oh come on people! I know there are more than just 1 person who needs to study for the NCLEX. Just grab 5 questions from what you are currently studying and put them on here. OB, renal, pulmonary, electrolytes....This can be an awesome study tool if you just utilize it! Thanks Nesty for your reply!!!
  2. when i took my nclex last year i found a thread that was started that had a ton of nclex type questions on it and i found it very helpful. now i work in an er and have a coworker who needs some help studying too. the tread i found had everyone reply with 5 questions and answers to study. easy or hard it didn't matter. all schools cover different things and this gave a wide variety of information and it helped me so much. i cut and pasted anything that wasn't already a duplicate and made my own study guide out of it. i have to tell ya...about 90% of the nclex was covered on this study guide. :heartbeat so....i would like to start another thread that can keep going for months like the last one did and everyone please enter 5 questions and include the answers (please make sure you look these answers up so they are correct). there were over 1000 entries in the last thread so let's make this one as big as that one. have fun with it and challenge each other! here's some pharm questions to get you started... __________________ is used to treat htn unresponsive to diuretics? 3. I found this post about 3 days before taking NCLEX and only got to the first 13 or so pages. I cut and pasted my own study guide and looked at it 1x when I finished it, the other the night before the test. I know, with out a doubt, that I would not have passed it (let alone in 75 ?'s) without this post. I can't go into details about the test but just say that there were more things on here than I ever remembered from school. I know I learned them at some point in time, but didn't remember them. I can think of at least 4 right off hand that I had no clue of before looking at this post....and they were on NCLEX! Anyways enough praising this post. I took it Monday and found out Tuesday that I passed!!! WooHoo!!! Such a good feeling! Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post something. I will post my 5 soon and pay back to such a wonderful study guide!! Thanks again!!!
  4. Actually, I was told by multiple people that took the test over the summer (from spring grads) that they saw a lot of meds on there from TV. My school also said they got numerous reports from post grads that they saw some too. I just want to be prepared. Thanks for the heads up on the usual meds though. I will hunt them down.
  5. Thanks everyone!!! I take the NCLEX next Monday!!!
  6. Thanks so much! This will get me started. I have heard of all these meds, I just wasn't sure if there were some that I didn't know since I don't see much TV. Thanks again!!! :redbeathe:lol2::heartbeat
  7. I am studying for the NCLEX and I have heard that there are a lot of questions about meds seen on TV. I need some help here because I don't get a chance to see too much TV with work, kids, and studying. Can anyone think of any med, what it is used for, possible s.e.? Thanks!!! :heartbeat
  8. i remember mine this way d.r. t.i.m right dose right route right time right identification of pt right medication and of course the 6th right of documentation!
  9. I have just finished my 5th qtr of ADN and we caught wind of a 6th qtr ADN student who was going through her preceptorship and made the near fatal mistake. She gave the wrong pt the wrong meds, multiple meds at that. The pt almost died and is still in ICU. She was kicked out of the entire program, and it is believed that she will not be able to obtain a licenses ever (not sure the license part is true). I don't know what happened, why she didn't check the 5 rights, or what her excuse was. At this point I don't think it matters what her excuse was. I felt very sick to my stomach when I heard this. Many things ran through my head; how does she feel after going through all this hard work only to majorly screw it up, OMG what about the pt and their family, how could something like this happen, where was the nurse who was precepting her? I just want to take this time to remind everyone that the nursing field is not a place to ever feel too comfortable and start to slack!!! Chris
  10. Started my pre-req's at 30 and hope to have my ADN at 34. Yes it's going to take 4 yrs because I have had to work full-time and go to school part time. Such is life!
  11. Your kidding right? I'm almost done with school too and my school doesn't let us poke people unless we are giving an IM or SQ. They told us once we get a job in a hospital they would send us around with the IV team. :angryfire I WANNA POKE SOMEONE!!! lol... This just sounds rediculious to me. They ever think that maybe not everyone wants to start out in a hospital?
  12. No she did not just try to do an IVP with a blunt end cannula into a blue capped INT, and then come out and ask me why it wouldn't work! Some people....
  13. Awesome! Thank you both. This will make it much easier to write my paper this weekend. Thanks again! Chris :bowingpur
  14. OOps sorry didn't see the Wellness part! My bad
