So help again. LOL :) I am working on a problem now that is same concept. * Pt is getting Heparin drip at 7ml/hr. The concentration is 25,000u in 250mL of D5W. The doc changes the order to increase the drip to 500units/hr. At what rate would you set the pump at in mL/hr? so do I set it up differently? I know the answer is 12mL.hr but I dont get how the come to this answer in the book. THANKS AGAIN PPL. Trying to learn this stuff before Tuesday for test.

Need advice on how to get through Nursing School
I understand the hardship that the situation your in. I know at many places in my area have programs to help with assistance of vost during school if you sign a contract. For example, the place I go to school is a hosptil and will give students 5000 per year you agree to work for them after graduation. Or of forth... I would contact places HR department and ask them. I was suprised at the resources that are out there for nursing students. As well.... schlorahips are very helpful. Anything extra from tution and all gets kicked back to you at midterm and I pay all my bills ahead with that money. As well... loans can be healpful. Some employeers will pay your loans off after you graduation to get you to sign on with them. If you have any other questions, I'd love to help ya. :) Missy

IV MATH HELP: unit/hr
Hello. For the most part I understand IV math (gtt/min, ml/he etc), but I am having a hard time with unit type questions. I have looked throughout medspub and several websites that I normally use. All the help I have found up to this point is that 1mL = 100 units, but I still cant figure out how to solve these type of problems. Ordered: Heparin 25,000u/500mL to run at 1200u/hr How many ml/hr will I start pump at? **** I don't understand how the answer 24mL/hr. Is there a formula for these problems, I am sorry but I am so confused. Any help is very appreciated. Thank you. Missy
