I am relocating for a nursing job in TN. I will be supporting my husband and twin 8 yr old boys. I plan on working OT, which should add at least $10,000 to my $40,000 salary. Do any of you who live there think this is possible? I DONT want to live in an apt- I really hope to rent a house. I will be living outside of Nashville. The hospital is in Madison. I am looking at rentals in 2 weeks in areas with good schools- so advice on that would also be very helpful :) Thank you!! Lisa

Hello fellow new nurses! I just got called for a phone interview for Sharp Memorial Residency. Can anyone PLEASE tell me what kind of questions they ask so I can be sure to make it to the panel interview???? I would be extremely grateful. Of course I also want to hear all about the terrifying panel interview also! I hear its brutal, and all about the nurse practice act. Is this true? Thank you! Lisa

What are prison interviews like? When asked why you want to work for a correctional facility, what do you say? I imagine that you don't want to admit you like the pay!! I am looking to do it for at least a year to help pay off my student loans. Why do all of you like it? What is your motivation? What are the benefits of this type of environment? Don't be so hard on yourself, it was only your first exam. Once you finish your first few semesters, it will all start making sense. Right now you are just building your foundation. The bigger picture will take time! Plus, if all of those people failed, your teacher must not have prepared you well for the exam. Were you given a study guide? Do you use flash cards? If you do have a study guide, make sure you know everything on it, inside and out. Definitely form a study group. Find 2 or 3 people who seem very motivated and hook up with them. It really helps to bounce ideas off each other and get clarification on areas that you are having trouble with. It will make a huge difference. I learn so much in my study groups. You can share ideas and fun ways of memorizing important topics. Get back to the books, and don't give up. This will all be worth it!!!
