Hi, I tried to post the name of the nurse attorney I used in Austin, and allnurses.com would not allow me to post it. I do not know if you can post your email information on this site. I wish I could help you. I am not a paying member on this site, so I can not post private emails to others. So sorry!!

I actually finished nursing school and did not think that anything would come up, since I went through the first background check for school and nothing showed up, and had not put anything down, since I never did a crime aganist a person, or hurt anyone, and it was a stupid thing that happened years ago.. Anyway I hired a Nurse attorney while waiting to take my NCLEX, maybe a couple of months sooner. And she agreed with me and it went past the board and was okayed and I have been a nurse for over a year. I hired a Nurse attorney out of Austin Texas, she was not even in my home town, nice thing was that she was working right in the Capital of Texas where the board is at and has a lot of contact with them for many things..But although I still have the paper work ect from the board I would hate to go through explaining to an employer. But nothing was asked about this problem when I was hired. And I was passed by the board. The board does know that a lot of peole did do dumb things early on, they have and had children too!

You know what is really sad?...Is that he had a product that everyone wanted. Makes me wonder if I should quit nursing and sell them with the cute etching. I got the product from another company who send it asap. But it didn't have the same kinda etching, which would prove it was mine. The steth had my name but small....don't know why that guy can not be honest.

The company that does the background checks for the hospitals do run fingerprints. Sometimes the schools kinda do, but really when you apply for the state test and jobs. The nurse/lawyers in your area will help you if you hire them and will consult you as well. :starornament:

I would talk to a "nurse lawyer". I had a past charge but it was a bogus charge and never should of happened. Nurse lawyers are on the internet in your area. I actually used one in Austin Texas where the Bon is located in Texas. I think that was a bonus although I live 800 miles away. Those type of lawyers know the "nurse" law in your area. Perhaps the BON will take into consideration that your character has been clear for many years. But talk to a good nurse lawyer for advice. :redlight:

I think the Hurst review online helped also. The charity book was okay. I know they also have an NCLEX review on nclex website for around 25 dollars. That was going to be my last choice, if all else didn't work.

Well for sure you will receive this scope!! That is for sure. So I wouldn't be worried, because that is what ultimately he tries to sell you on and generally he gives you a free medical bag with them. Let us know what you think of the scope that he pushes. It will be interesting to hear your review.

They are different as far as I know stethoscopes.com was him. He is into pushing Magna Fortis. He must own the company. Because he always tries to sell you on them when you call and complain because your Littman did not arrive. He claims they are the best. Try and see if you can find Magna Fortis on search engine and it is all bad. I do not know what his deal is. But I know what he did to me. And I talked to him personally twice and he was nice but trying to sell you on those scopes and actually was trying to rip me off. So it is the website that is stethoscopes.....:flmngmd:

Hi..I just bought this La Charity book as well and am reading it. My exam is next week and I am finding that there are so differences also. I am getting kind of confused !?..Because some things are different than what I have been taught. So I am wondering about your post and hoping that someone does answer us about this. I have been doing Saunders Q & A ED. 3, and the Hurst review as well.

Yep, it is too bad that he and his company are like that. I really wanted the engraving of a butterfly that he had along with my name. But I did get really fast service through steeles, the company that the person mentioned in an earlier thread here. The guy who runs that place is aware of the problems we are encountering and is getting a lot of new business!....I got my credit card refunded really fast by Visa, when stethoscopes.com took me!!...I just can't believe that guy is still selling?!...Hopefully the word will get around.

I too am facing the same problem everything on a bogus charge ( wasn't guilty,wrong place/wrong time kind of thing) happened over 20 years ago was over looked by the boards as well. But I believe that when things happened ions ago people do change and just getting your RN degree and putting in all that time and energy says a lot about someone. So I hope I can get through the interviews as well. I had read a good reply on this site about that at one time advising to just say yes I did have some problem a long time ago and it was resolved. And not elaborate on it. I hope we can get some others to give us advice on this. I'm just plain worried about job interviews period!!!..lol.....

Goodness, I'm still in the process of tryring to get my application off with the help of a lawyer. I have to send in a Declaratory petition, so I am trying to get it into the mail by tomorrow. And Dec is graduation, so we are really pushing it. So we shall see, it might turn into a nitemare!!...Lets hope not, all this mess on top of last semester of class is making me crazy..I'll keep you posted....:roll
