  1. I agree. 3 months is a short amount of time for all the hoops. I'm working on my UK license as well. I plan to stay a year. I'm looking for info/advice as well. Have not taken my Test of Competence yet, but looking to do it soon. I've already spent close to $600 and not nearly finished with the application.
  2. This is clearly a violation of HIPPA, more importantly, a blatent disregard for ethics and morality. Am I reading this right?? An assistant nurse manager took the picture? I am appalled. In addition, the fact that the writer of the original post was "unsure" of what to do also needs to understand the difference between right and wrong. I am a RN and work in a children's hospital and sometimes my patients have special needs and this "blows my mind" and saddens me that a nurse would take part in the immature behavior. IT IS SO WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS!!!!! Never is it appropriate to take a picture of a child with your camera while you are in the hospital setting. PERIOD! End of story.
  3. I have one that hard to top. A guy came into the ER the other day. wanted a prescription for Viagra. Unfortunately, for him, the ER doc was a woman and had no sympathy. No Viagara for him. I could just see the conversation now: Doc:Why are you here again? Pt: I was hoping I'd get some viagra. Doc: Well this is an emergency room. We treat emergencies here. Pt: Well doc, you should see her!
  4. Most places I have worked parking is always a hassle, but free. Here in Los Angeles, it costs the staff $63.00 a month to park in the staff garage. I take the bus to work and walk a little less than a mile every time, but once it was pouring down rain and I elected to drive my car. It cost me $11.00 that day and I used the valet since I couldn't park in staff without a sticker. No problem though, the staff said the garage floor was flooded and everyone got wet. That's crazy!
