Hi! A JJ stent goes from the kidney thru ureter down to bladder..so the urine can drain to bladder..a foley is in the urethra to drain bladder. Apparently this patient didn't have a foley since he/she could urinate on their own. I think it's called a double j b/c of the way it's shaped..it's one stent that curls at both ends..one curl in the kidney and one curl in the bladder. Maybe this patient had a PCN tube? That does have a bag but its a tube draining the kidney directly thru patient's skin to bag. Hope thus helped

Joe - congrats ! It takes a special person to be able to work hospice. My dad was inpatient hospice for almost a month and my brother, sister and i stayed with him 24/7 so I witnessed what the nurses did around the clock. They were amazing and part of the reason I decided to go to nursing school at age 42. It did get pretty intense/sad when dad was in end stage of dying, but the compassion and caring, not only physical but emotional as well, that the nurses displayed, not only helped my dad die peacefully, but helped his family cope. At times, the nurses were there more for us and helping us understand what was happening. I don't know how we would have gotten thru it without the great hospice nurses. All my best to you...........

My heart just sank....I was expecting a couple hundred for books but not 1750-2000. I guess I'll have to check out that financial chart (should have done that sooner!!) I have a Littmann too, but my name isn't engraved (I'll have to complain to my husband about that, LOL) I got a BP cuff too and for the first week the family was running from me...I don't know why - their arms only stayed red for a little while, LOL...I still haven't figured out the cuff yet and its too hard to practice on myself. If you get a chance, let me know when you get your package from dixon. I am hoping it contains paperwork about scholarships and grants cause I'm really gonna need that now. Thanks again for the info.

I just got a postcard in the mail from dixon saying that they received my acceptance fee and will forward other material later. Has anyone received anything else besides the postcard? Melachai - i'll have to check out iTunes, thanks! I loved Micro - it was an "easy" class - not really easy, but easier than some of the others. It was really interesting but now I am somewhat of a germaphobe, which I guess is a good thing. Swabbing things, putting them into a dish (agar), incubating them, and then figuring out which bacteria is growing!! it was fun and disgusting at the same time. Right now, we are trying to save for a vacation for the early part of summer since it might be the last time I have in the next two years!! it will go fast...........

I received my letter in beginning of December for evening/weekend. I applied during early decision period. Regular decision is notified by April, I think. I had all my pre-reqs done. The interview went well - everyone there seemed really nice. Good luck........hope to meet you all there! Maryann

The only thing I purchased was the practice online test from the teas website. It was worth every penny. The practice test is formatted just like the real test. You can take the practice test twice too. Good Luck!
