  1. I would suggest the book calculating with confidence. It is very useful and easy to use. We used this book and had medication dosage math questions on pharm tests as well as in other subjects. Math was stressed in my school, and I think it was important, because when you get to the hospital to do your clinicals you HAVE to be knowledgeable at calculating doses especially if you will be working in peds! Great book...take advantage of it
  2. I have also learned that you should ask for the sites of IV access and the gauge of the needle/catheter.
  3. I also seem to have trouble finding a job. I have not taken the NCLEX yet, and I apply with "pending license". Do they not consider taking you for a job if you haven't passed NCLEX yet?
  4. wow thank you so much this really breaks it down into the most simple method
  5. I did not try the Kaplan as I am studying from the Saunders book. But my school used the ATI and it seemed to be so different from NCLEX questions that I see in Saunders. Very simple questions and they don't always involve a "situation" in the question to make you think. I just don't think the ATI is realistic to use for review
  6. we started getting closer the 2nd year and with clinicals. we are all so close now, the whole class really. We all go out as this huge group to bars, or lunch. We have many "groups" but everyone comes together and we are a unified group. I also felt like yoou in the beginning, but I think the more time you spend together the closer you become. Compaining to eachother or helping eachother out really works too if all else fails hehe
  7. you should really not switch them. Although it may sound better, nursing dx are designed to first state what they are r/t to and then they expain what it is evidenced by.
  8. i think epi and neroepi are adrenergic...they stimulate the sympathetic nervous system. you should add the urinary system also :)
  9. calculate with confidence is the book i used in school, it really helps. I think you freak yourself out over the math just thinking about it. Get this and start going over concepts earlier to give yourself more time to process it. This book is really easy to use and is really user friendly. I remember that if I would get stuck especially on diving decimals without a calculator, I would use math.com. Hope it helps you, I think the most important this is to give yourself time to learn the concepts and concentrate on using them. Believe me, if you hate this, wait until you get to clinicals and it will all make sense to you; it will also give you confidence and you will feel reassured that you are giving your patient the correctly dosed medication.
  10. your first two dx are great but you dont seem to have enough evidence to prove or show why you think that obesity will show risk for integrity of his skin...unless there was breakage or excoriation between the folds?
  11. I just finished also! graduating/pinning on friday! It feels so surreal and so sad to leave all my friends behind for adult life. But now we have to start studying for the NCLEX!

I fully respect! :) I was just curious of the reasoning for this process. I actually want to do her plan, its really nice that she spends her time and energy into helping others.

Can someone please explain to me why Suzanne's plan is not posted online here on the forum? why does it need to have all of these steps...would it not be easier to just post it on a forum so that people can start and use the advice that she has? I just don't see the reasoning for all of these "steps"... I don't mean to be rude, I was just curious. Thanks!:)
