University of Phoenix MSN Program
Hey everyone, I started this thread 18 months ago, and this week finished my MSN. I went through with no breaks, and it flew by. I am glad to have it behind me, but the experiences were great! I highly recommend the program.

University of Phoenix MSN Program
I ended up with a B+ in this class, the lowest grade I have made so far at UoP, I missed A minus by 1 point. I don't ever want to take a class like that again. I really had trouble rapping my head around it. But my next two classes have been great. I have 5 classes left (March 2008).

Has anyone taken HCS 571- Financial Resource Management. This is my 6th or 7th class, it is a killer. I have no financial background, and we have to develop a business plan complete with all the financial stuff. My GPA is 4.0 to date, but to be honest, I will be happy to get a B in this class.

CM interview tomorrow
Well, I had my interview yesterday, they told me it would be three weeks before a decision was made, but the supervisor called to give me the unofficial offer this morning. I have to wait for HR to get the official offer, but looks good. I will be the inpatient nurse case manager for the ICU! I will be working with a very seasoned social work case manager and sharing an office with her, I can't wait!

CM interview tomorrow
I have an interview for a nurse case manager position, what can I expect from the interviewers? I have been a nurse for 17 years, in many positions including nursing instructor.

Help me make a decision!
i am currently in the msn program at uofp. it is a great program, but very hard work. you need good writing and research skills to get through the program and must be able to do your work with little help from the instructors.

I Want to take a group to UK to visit Nursing Program
I am looking to take a group of student nurses to the UK to visit a nursing program and hospital. I would like to hear from some nurses with recommendations. Money is definitly a consideration as I am trying to get the experience for as little as possible. What I have in mind is staying either in the school dorms(if possible) or maybe staying at the home of the students. It will probably be a group of 7 students. Do you have any school suggestions, travel suggestions, etc? Thanks, Bryan

Faculty Issues
I will be first in line to support higher wages for nursing faculty, but playing the devils advocate, the other faculty at the college don't think it fair to pay nursing faculty higher wages than they recieve. How do we as a group demonstrate that the education we provide because of the skills taught in nursing school demands that we be paid equal atleast to clinical staff?

Faculty Issues
Here's my worth. I have been a nurse for 16 years, and just began a master's program and I just accepted a position as a full time nursing instructor at a BSN program here in NC. The position is a nine month position, and is ~$15000 less than than I currently make. I have been assured that when I complete my masters program a raise would be forthcomming. I have decided to keep my present position at the hospital on a prn basis to make up the difference, and would only have to work every other weekend during the school term and pick up some extra shifts in the summer to make up the difference. I always said I would not make life changing decisions based on the $$, and in the end, being an educator is the right move for me despite the poor pay.

More education after 50
Nursing is full of people your age and much older, there are so many disciplines in nursing, it is possible to work until YOU decide to quit.
