From what most nurses have tried, the Kaplan Course seems to be effective. I plan on taking it before my 2nd exam attempt. :)

I plan on taking the 2 week Kaplan Class Course that starts at 6 pm Mon-Thurs evenings in San Jose. If you have a car and would like some company and share gas money, let me know ASAP!

Basically, what it comes down to is what you want and feel comfortable with. Are you comfortable with a union representing you? Are you comfortable paying a union to represent you? or Are you confident and comfortable enough to represent yourself when an unfair issue arises? Are you comfortable with handling issues on your own? Just some questions to think about. :)I think unions are just available if we need to buy a stronger voice. Good luck in your decision!

I was caring for an old lady nearing death. She was looking above at the wall. Puzzled, I asked her what she was looking at. She said she was "seeing Jesus walking up the stairs" on the wall. There was nothing in her room but her bed, her, me and the wall in front of us. I kept this in mind when I was caring for another much older lady about a year later, who told me she was seeing the same thing without her knowing of my past experience with the previous lady. She was behaving in much the same way too...looking up at the wall with a gaze. If the same sight was shown to these two different ladies who aren't even associated with one another; I've got good reason to believe too! :) I've ruled out the idea of it being a schizophrenic symptom because I've never heard of Jesus messing around in people's hallucinations. :) Has anyone had this similar experience?

I'm also in California. I think starting salary ($23-30/hr) in California today considering the cost of living would be the same as $12.50/hr in Colorado a long time ago. I'm not sure what cost of living is there before and now?

Think of the value and quality of your life that you are sacrificing to nurse. What do you want to trade your nursing time for? $100,000 and no time to enjoy life; or $35,000 and time to live your own life. Moderate/level out your sacrifices and paycheck. :) I hope I made sense.
