  1. I'm not sure I can really say what the pay will be like- I worked as an ER tech in a hospital in New Orleans and the pay was $10.50. I also got a night differential of something like .75 cents. I'm assuming that if you take this tech position, you will be quitting another job and possibly looking at a pay cut because of it. I can definitely tell you that all the experience you get in the ER as a tech will definitely out weigh the pay cut in the long run. Being able to work in a hospital on a routine basis does wonders for your comfort level. I am so much more comfortable in a hospital setting from just the three months that I spent working in the ER. I had even already experienced two semesters of clinicals at that point. Hope this helps you out a little. Good luck!
  2. I actually just found out that I'm pregnant but I'm only 6 weeks along which means I'm due in September. I will be 5 months at graduation. Sounds like I'll be okay then- Thanks for you help!
  3. Thanks for the private message-Unfortunately, I don't have enough posts yet to be able to send you one back. I just have a quick question for you regarding pregnancy during NAC II. Did you have anyone pregnant during your NAC II semester? Someone recently told me that another student was asked to not register for NAC II because she would be pregnant during the semester. I wasn't sure if there was any truth to that or not. I'm not really sure if the reasoning had to do with stress load, procedures completed during the semester, etc. Any input you have would be great. Thanks again!
  4. I had a hard time when I was trying to find one also. I finally was able to find a class at EJ.
  5. Good for you- The F & E lecture sucks big time so if you can get a handle on it now you'll be one step ahead.
  6. First of all good luck with it- it's not an easy class but if you put your mind to it you can totally make the grade you want. The biggest thing is keeping up with all the information. There's a lot of information and if you don't keep up with it as you go, you're screwed. It's just way too much to learn right before the test. Make sure to go back and listen to the lectures on Tegrity before the tests- that really helped me a lot. Make sure you do well on your tests so that your grade on the final doesn't make or break you. If you can create a nice cushion, you have a much better chance at passing the course. Not sure if your semester will be the same or not, but during mine the night lectures were a lot of times better than the day lectures. If it's the same way with you, go to the day lectures and then also listen to the night lectures on Tegrity.
  7. It honestly depends on the teacher and the facility you are at. You have two rotations during NAC I and you are there two days each week. If I remember correctly, we had to be at the hospital by 7 and we were there until around maybe 3. It varies for everyone, though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help!
  8. Crescent- You were a huge help.... Thanks!
  9. I'm getting ready to register also and am very interested in an information that may help us! Crescent- I can't PM yet because I don't have enough posts. If I give you my email, is there any way that you could email me the information??? Thanks!
  10. Is there any way that you could possibly send me this information also. I don't graduate until May but would like to have it just out of curiosity. I'm not able to PM for some reason. Thanks!
