  1. passing score is 70. many of the questions will be cardiac, so if you are weak on the cardiac and mods then i would study those really hard before you take the test.
  2. BSN stands for Bachelor of Science in Nursing. so therefore BSN and BS in nursing is EXACTLY the same thing. I do not recommend pre-med students to go to Nursing school unless you want to be a nurse. MDs and RNs have very different philosophies and even though being a nurse first may earn you a respect from fellow coworkers, if you want to be a doctor then you would be wasting your time trying to put in all your nursing clinical times and all. nursing school is not easy by any means, it takes time and money. go straight into what your heart tells you and don't think that nursing is same as pre-med. it's not.

my friend is graduating from UMB and she hates it. the instructors are horrible. so i have to say no to UMB even though they don't require GRE. but thanks though! anything helps! i actually didn't know that they didn't require GRE.
  6. first of all which unit/floor do you work at? i precept students/interns all the time. maybe i can help you. 1) which unit do you work at? 2) do you have one preceptor or do you have several different ones? 3) how long was your orientation? 4) what do you feel is lacking (other than time and experience) 5) how long have you been working as RN? 6)can you identify your strength and weaknesses? if so, what are they? 7) do you or did you feel comfortable enough to share your feelings with your preceptors? if not, how about manager?
  7. if you don't know how LPN thinks, then you have nothing to worry about. (as far as your teacher wanting you to think like RN) start thinking like RN from the beginning and you have no problem!!! keep on going, you will get through this. oh and plus, many ICUs and Critical Care areas of the hospitals (if not all) don't hire LPNs or LVNs. you have to have RNs. maybe that tells you something. there are big difference between Med/Surg RN and ICU RN as well. maybe that's the difference. they are competent in their unique ways. i'm not saying one is better than the other. but RN can work at M/S but LVNs can't work at ICU. (or at least until they get RN) and also can't go on to the Masters until they get not only RN but BSN. different way of thinking, definately.

hi all. i'm wanting to go back to school. i need more informations before i do though, and i thought maybe some of you guys could help me. i initially wanted to go back to school to be ACNP because i have 3 years of ICU and Hyperbaric experience, but i already make 80,000 a year and i dont' wanna go back to school to make the same amount of money. my husband is graduating from CRNA school in two months, and am starting to consider CRNA. the only thing that i'm scared of is that i'm not good at GRE or MAT. can someone give me more info on what kind of job opportunities ACNP (line insertion at IR, ICU, clinics etc) and how much they make. Thank you! any info is appreciated!
