  1. Can you please explain what the definition of GHETTO means?
  2. Okay, thank you for your quick response. Also, how were the proctored exams? do they let you write certain concepts on the whiteboard?
  3. If you don't mind me asking, which videos and material did you use for STATS?
  4. When they say they will only accept the 1st attempt, what they are referring to is the first passing score. However, as I mentioned earlier that your free to take the test elsewhere and submit that score to the school. However, if you wait for DeAnza to offer you the TEAS test (given you get accepted)and you don't pass, then you will have to go through the remediation process that will take a yr. So it's your call on how you want to proceed forward. SJSU only charges $50.
  5. Just take the test at SJSU it's only $50, however, if you take the test at DeAnza (which they will pay for it if you're excepted), and don't pass it, you will have to wait for a year and submit some type of remediation.
  6. yes, they do. Although I applied for the LVN-RN program, I got accepted as a transfer RN due to 1 yr of experience at a local RN program, and, graduated 5/18/2020. In addition, you have to take a separate dosage calculation and Pharm class before applying to their program.
  7. Hi @chocoli um other than working in the medical field as an LVN &CCMA, I just kept applying for New Grad RN Positions.. Also, the most important thing is to make sure your Resume is on point. Because that’s what gets you in the door. I would say do some research on Resumes and what the employer is looking for. But Believe me, there’s a lot of competition out there, so try to apply early on once you see a position. In addition to looking on the websites of the hospitals you want to apply at, you can always reach out to their HR department and find out when their new grad programs generally appear. As well as create a Indeed account, they often post New Grad RN positions. I hope that helps! Stay strong, never give up on your dreams.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if @FullGlass works for one of the Elite Ivy League schools, because you are a great saleswoman for the brand. Point taken but please be open-minded, for I too am an active Northern Californian that has recently obtained my RN license and happened to work at one of the hospitals that you mentioned. Just be careful about sharing salaries and job opportunities that you don't have direct information about. For I do know what the going rates are, and which type of people are successful in obtaining job offers, for I have received several to speak of, and they are not concern which IVY lead nursing school you graduated from. Their main concern during the interview process is are A GOOD FIT for our patients/staff and can you keep our patients safe while providing the BEST patient care as a few of the members have mentioned OVER AND OVER AGAIN. My advice to you is don't be a Name Brand Person when you lack experience in the NURSING world as you mentioned NUMEROUS times, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN AT INFINITY OVER INFINITY. We get it with you, It's all about where you went to school at... And to that I'D SAY....Umm IT IS NOT
  9. Thanks, I just applied yesterday night to 6 locations. I really wasn't expecting a response back, since I got an offer at a local hospital for their ED as a new grad. Yes fingers crossed for you @RN2FNP_Someday
  10. Yup it's true, I applied and just got an email back, and here is what it says. Dear Applicant, Thank you for your submission of interest to our Kaiser Permanente Northern California Nurse Residency Program. The program supports newly licensed registered nurses (RNs) as they make their initial transition to practice into one of our 21 Northern California medical centers. The program consists of a comprehensive evidence-based clinical orientation in addition to a 12-month transition to-practice supported by Vizient and AACN’s nationally recognized curriculum. Congratulations! You have been selected to move forward in the screening process. I have outlined the next steps and program details below.
  11. Hello all, here's an update regarding my ER interview with GSH. I got a call from the recruiter today around 4:50 pm for the New Grad position and I accepted.
  12. Thank you I appreciate your feedback
  13. Hello all, so glad to find this post. I too have an upcoming interview next week with GSH. Any tips or ideas you can share would be most helpful. Also how many people were in the panel interview? was it mostly behavioral style questions along with the dreadful "tell me about yourself question." any help will do. Besides did anyone felt nervous during and how did you handle that? Just trying to get a feel for how the environment will be. Thanks in advance.
  14. Hi Medlove, I'm entering 2nd semester with ---------------- as my clinical instructor although I heard she's challenging I wanted to know if U knew anyone that's had her in clinical's, and if so, what should I be concern/focus on, in order to succeed with her? Any advice would be greatly Appreciated! Sincerely concern..
  15. I agree with the previous person, your classes will be transfered. I live in California and they along with other schools do give credit for previous classes, so don't give up, and don't believe the hype. Good luck.
  16. Hi is it possible you could e-mail me your sample as well, so I could compare my info. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Diane
