Hello! My GPA was about the same as yours when I applied to the program. I got accepted on my first attempt. I also had a previous bachelor's degree. Admission is based on a points system with so many points being awarded for certain GPA ranges, some points for having all pre-reqs completed vs only some, additional points for a bachelor's degree, etc. My GPA did not reflect it but I had done well in all of the pre-requisite courses. I think you shouldn't have a problem getting accepted if you can do well in yours. Polk's website states that most students accepted have TEAS scores of 70 or above so you should be fine there. FYI, at least one major hospital near Polk State College has started phasing out LPNs so you might find it worth your while to try to get your RN degree if you are staying in the area and plan on working in a hospital. I agree with everybody's posts. Not that you would be asked this on a test but on my floor, if a patient with traction was being transported by bed, the transport would require two people - one to push the bed and the other to stabilize the weight by lightly holding the rope. Can you imagine the weight swinging and bumping into the bed or walls jarring the patient's injured bone? OUCH! That extra person steadies the rope, not adding or removing tension, simply preventing any swinging.

I WISH I would've seen this thread before my NCLEX!! Literally, three of the first five facts were on my test!

At my testing center times were staggered. There were about 10 - 15 computers in one room, all facing the walls with dividers in between them. I didn't notice anyone enter or leave. I didn't hear anything either since I was so focused on my computer screen. I also went in a little early and I was let right in after the finger/palm scan and picture. I couldn't stand waiting in my car for another 45 minutes.

I took my exam Friday as well and it sounds similar to yours. I did not get any drug calculations although I DID get questions about side effects of common drugs. I had about 5 SATA, a TON of infection control, prioritization, and teaching. You should be able to access your quick results by now. I was able to get mine on Sunday. Pay the 8 bucks...it'll give you peace of mind. :yeah:BTW Congrats on passing!

Earplugs. I swear by them. Those little pieces of foam give me all the peace and quiet I need to study. They are cheap and you can find them at your grocery store, drugstore, etc.
