New Nurse...Need advice on dealing with death
yes, counseling is a good way to cope with death and also religion. try to embrace the reality of birth and death...it is normal..and everybody will die eventually...pretty, ugly, rich, poor, educated, uneducated...nobody can escape death..one should only be spiritually ready for it when it comes...in my religion we are reminded of death every service..we sing songs of death and a new life ahead...good luck..

NCLEX Review Philippines
i did self review for nclex-rn exam thinking i will pass it on 1st attempt because i passed my local board on 1st attempt too maybe i can also pass on self review.....but no wrong...i really needed the guidance of a review center. here i am again. i will be enrolling in Kaplan tomorrow. i have researched that URC and kaplan have good passing rates. but kaplan will give you harder questions more like nclex.good luck. btw i was enrolled at a review center during my local boards and centers really do guide their students.

A good point to remember for studying in general
the truth is passing nclex-rn does not only involve knowledge and hardwork. Luck has a big part and so is God's grace and mercy. Good luck to all of us retakers.....

well 4th time isnt a charm
i also did not pass my 1st attempt but you know i am kinda glad that i did not pass the 1st attempt. you see i am a foreign nurse from the philippines. i passed our local boards on my 1st attempt and i think if i also passed nclex rn exam on my 1st attempt then probably i will be more conceited and proud and be a know it all in the workplace which is dangerous for the patient. i became more humble and i think this is God's way of teaching me something which is humility.how bout you? what do you think should you learn from this whole experience? (humility? perseverance?patience? etc)i hope you find out soon and learn it.......and probably after you do God will allow you to pass. i will be taking my 2nd attempt i hope God agrees with me that i have already learned humility. good luck to us both for our next nclex rn exam

Took NCLEX without studying. Anyone else?
i see what you mean. but you see we influence how people think here....others are just silent readers. what is a more positive tone or realistic tone of thinking? thinking it as a beast or as a CAT Exam....if one thinks it as a beast one will be totally intimidated.......not good. we must help each other here......and somehow influence each other's thinking in a more positive light......i had seen the exam. i did not pass. but i will never think it as a beast.....not good. why add more intimidation to something intimidating?

Took NCLEX without studying. Anyone else?
well i am not a 1st time test taker........i will take it again too.........i see the nclex-rn as a CAT exam .........and to think it as a beast seems so silly.....it makes it seem more harder that it already is.....just think of it rationally........a CAT exam.

Took NCLEX without studying. Anyone else?
i don't like to think that this NCLEX-RN exam is a beast......coz it's not....it has to be thought of rationally as a CAT exam and that's it....it's not a beast ....i hope people will stop thinking it is a beast ,better to think it as an opportunity for a license to work and earn a living and not a beast. ok????

GOD IS GOOD! I Passed NCLEX-RN....1st Time!!!

Saunders contradicting self
you have a keen eye and mind Lorodz. that is a good sign that your studies are sinking in....i think you will pass your upcoming nclex...i entirely depended on saunders on my1st and i also noticed inconsistencies. i brushed it off.....then i failed my 1st. i think saunders is good for content only .....and kaplan for Questions strategy......i have yet to prove this conclusion coz i will be doing this soon. if there is one positive thing that resulted in my failing my 1st attempt. i think it is the humility i have now in my heart. i think failing my 1st served its purpose. good luck to us both on our nclex rn exams :typing

i failed the first try (265 questions)
hi shush001. it is normal to feel depressed after knowing that you did not pass. i did not pass my 1st attempt too that is why i know how you feel. in the meantime, just prepare yourself emotionally and mentally whatever the results may be. you are not yet sure if you passed that is why you should not jump into conclusions. ok? if you did fail just look at it as a warm up test. you know now how the test is conducted and how it asks the questions. you will have a better chance at passing it next time because you now have 1st hand info. about the nclex because you have previously tested. actually you are in a win/win situation. you might not think that way right now but believe me. :typing i will be taking my 2nd too. good luck to us.

failed nclex rn today
oh????? that was so surprising.......i have seen some post here that says that they passed by combining the kaplan and saunders. then you should ask yourself how did you study? as for me, i also did not pass my 1st attempt. i studied for 7mos. but i think i did not do a good strategy in studying that is why i failed.i depended so much on saunders but i think what made me fail is that i did not use the book effectively. let us try suzanne's plan. i feel your pain. we r on the same boat......:typing hugs

Re-checking of CGFNS CP result
I took my CGFNS CP exam last Sept.17. I found out that I failed. I was so devastated. I got a score of 384 and the passing score is 400. Someone told me that one applicant got a failed score then she asked for a recheck. It turned out that she passed the exam. I am curious. How much score is there per question in the CGFNS exam? Will you still advice me to have a rechecking of my score? or do you think it is just a waste of my $50-. You see, when i found out i failed this exam my self esteem is somehow affected. Do you know of others who asked for a recheck too? What happened? What are the statistic of people asking for a recheck and found out to be passers? pls reply me. thanks......

NCLEX-RN retake CA BON
:typing hi to all. i am a nurse from the Philippines. i did not pass my 1st attempt. I am now planning to re-apply for NCLEX-RN exam again. I would like to ask fellow Filipinos in this site. How did you re-apply? What documents did you send them? Is the waiting time for the eligibility faster than the 1st time? pls help. i am thinking about retaking the exam again. I am aware that CA BON will not issue a license to international nurses when they pass if they do not have an SSN#. Do you still suggest that i still reapply here or to another state? but i really want to work at CA only. but my issue is the issuing of the license.....any advice?

Failed a 2nd time and am ready to move on with the rest of my life...
i too will be taking my 2nd time. i was totally devastated upon learning that i did not pass my 1st but that's life...it just happens...we only have 2 choices .....to try again or to quit.....if we quit, then the result is final...if we try again,we have the chance to finally win this challenge...it is all up to us...:typing
