RN to BSN or BSN
Hello! I graduated in December with my associates in nursing, it took 2 years for the program and about 1 year before to complete all my pre-reqs. I would recommend to have all your pre reqs done before you go into the program so you can focus on Nursing and not other classes. This summer and fall im taking my pre reqs for my BSN and I start in a one year RN-BSN program in January. This route worked great for me. I was able to pay for my schooling, NO student loans and Debt free with a college degree, But if I went to a university and had to pay 7K+ a year for 4years, I would have some money to pay back. All in All, It would take me 5 years for my BSN, 1 year for pre reqs at the beginning, 2 years in the associates program.. Now working at the hospital as a nurse.. Taking 1 year for pre reqs for my BSN, and then 1 year for the RN-BSN Even with an associates degree, I was able to get a job at the hospital (I started in Feb.), now Im making money and able to pay for my RN-BSN with out loans. Either way they both get you to the same place... An RN, but just review the 2 options, the pros and cons and see which option works best for you. Good Luck!

Paper Charting Help
Hello! I'm a new grad that just started at a hospital that still does hand charting. Through out my school clinicals we worked in hospitals that did computer charting so I'm lost! I read and hear about nurses going to court and their charting not being correct and being sued! I'm looking for some tips: - How would you chart your AM assessment? -When do you chart? -How often do you chart? -Can you give examples of when you d/c an IV or start an IV? The proper documentation? -How to chart pain? -What do you chart if the patient hasnt changed from the AM assessment and no needs or changes through out the day? -Any thing you feel is IMPORTANT to document or a good way to write something! Anything and every tip is appreciated! Thanks

QT 7 - When to take?
I took Q-7 a week before my test. Try to take it all in one sitting just to get the practice of the real thing! And I agree with JP425, practice your SATA and Infection control (knowing what precautions to take with each type, droplet, airborne, ext and what disease falls under each category)! Good LucK!

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
The PV Trick worked for me!!! I took nclex-rn for NC on 2/6/09, did the trick, got the good pop up and got my results yesterday as passed!!! So far every person in my nursing class has done the trick and it has been correct, we also havnt had anyone fail yet either to test the theory...

KAPLAN QBANK (Q BANK)????
Hey! I did the Kaplan Class and the Q bank Questions. It came with 7 Practice Tests, Along with a q-Bank with over 1000 questions. It also had 3 other tests that focused on Priority and SATA. Kaplan also had content video reviews (about 30-40 hours) which was very helpful. I feel that you get alot more out of the Kaplan online than just the book. The online version is set up just like Nclex so you feel comfortable when you are taking the test (familiar format)!
