  1. Ok, so i'm in my last quarter of nursing school and we have an online class where we read things or look things up and post our respones of what we have read and found. This weeks assignment was to look at the nursing laws and what laws if broken can you be revoked of your lisences. I looked on ohio board of nursing and some other websites. I read down thru them but they are in like legal mombo jumbo. I figured out 2 laws and did my assignment but I think someone somewhere needs to make a Nursing laws for dummies! Put it in plain english! Divide it up, like nursing laws for LTC, in home care, ect. that you can look up if there is another law or some other restrictions for certain places. If anyone knows of an easier site to look at with nursing laws please let me know so I can pass it on to my fellow nursing class and then we will all be better nurses in the end! Thanks!!!
  2. Hi switchingears, I'm currently in my last quarter of nursing school as a LPN and I was working when I first started school. I was going to school out of town and working a day here and there and every other weekend. I cut my work time back to every other weekend and still failed pharm 1 by 2 pts. I also have a 3 year old and husband so not sure if that makes any difference. My opinion is if you "dont" have to work while going to nursing school I would suggest not to. I got right back into the program and am now taking classes at the local college that was a branch from the one of out town and things are much better since I am not working at all. But nursing school is not a breeze to just go in and listen to lecture and hey you pass the test. You really do have to read the un-ending long chapters that sometimes there are 4-7 chapters for one test. You have anywhere from 6-13 credit hours depending what you can get done before you get into the program. I started in business so some of the easy stuff like comp 1, math, and those things already done. So when I got into the program there were some classes I didnt have to take while taking just my nursing classes which gives me more time to just focus on my nursing classes and tests. But good luck on pursing your nursing degree!
  3. ahahah I have to laugh, because i've had this experience before as an aide. I dont get why they dont want a bath, but if you put a dryer sheet in your pocket and you "sneeze" and use your "tissue" aka dryer sheet to sneeze into or wipe ur nose then the smell goes away for a little bit!
  4. I can honestly say that my best friend understands that I really do need to study and pass. We try to pick a day to do something and we usually text or talk everyday. She is always there for me no matter what and I love her like a sister, heck some days I don't know what I would do without her! We both are married and both have a child so it's pretty nice to be able to all go do something together even if its just going over the hill to her house for supper and some bowling on the Wii. We have made a pack that every last saturday of the month we go to a crop till you drop night at a nearby scrapbook store and go up about 1 and get home about 3am. lol We have a blast we both love to scrapbook and gives us time together to have some fun! I know she is my true and bestest friend out there!
  5. What is suzanne's plan?? I'm currently in my last quarter for nursing and need some good tips on how to study for the NCLEX.. i've become very aggitated and anxious when taking tests in class these last 2 quarters. I've seen my grades drop and worry that all this anxiety will hurt me when I take my boards. Good luck on ur 2nd try!!
