Yes I have applied. I cant wait to find out what I need. I sent it in last Thursday. I requested transcripts which I think they have by now. I thought I would wait til like this Thurs. to call them. I am glad to know there is help to prepare for the clinical. It's funny the place in NY (Syracuse) is where I started my transition program. It'd be kind of neat to go back there. Oh what am I saying.. Your right I need to get through the program first. I cant wait to start....

Good luck with the boards.. I want to do excelsior i'm hoping it wont be that bad. I'm really worried about the last yahoo with the weekend exam thing. The clinical part of it. Thanks.

Have you taken any classes from EC?? If so with the study guides they give you do they tell you which book the material is in?? By the way thanks for the post.. Hannibal.

NO NO NO.. What the heck are they thinking?? Or not?? Apparently they have never hit bone before. I have along time ago and you never forget it. I am a pediatric nurse and would never hear of it. The question is not wheather to give it in arm or thigh but which size needle to use 25 or 23 guage depending on the size THIGH.. Man oh man..

What a great question. I was working in a department store one day and said to myself What am I doing here? I had a friend that was an LPN and I called the next day and the next week they had a class starting and had one position left so I took it. That was 25 yrs ago and I have never regreated it for one moment. Now here I am applying for RN school. Yeah ha here I go folks....:redpinkhe.

I know how you feel. Been there.. Such is the life of a nurse. No one knows howlong someone will last. All we can do is be the best caregiver we can. And being frustrated is all part of it. It isnt always easy. But we are a nurse because we care about people. Or we wouldnt be in the profession we are in. I have had several experiences like that. When someone dies and they made me frustrated the last time I took care of them. But you need to take a good hard look at yourself and realize you did your best. OK? Your a great nurse. And remember "This too shall pass"...

Hello everyone. Glad to be here. I have been an LPN for 25 yrs and have decided to go on for my RN FINALLY.. I started it in NY but moved to NC 3 yrs ago before I could finish it. I did my prereq's and started the transition program but had to move a month into that. So here I am. I decided to do the online course of Excelsior. I am not able to do classroom due to no evening classes are available in my area. I work Mon-Fri days. I am ready, willing, and able (with a great support system at home). So here I go. I was told by someone, they give you the study guides and you study them then when your ready you take the test. Can anyone confirm that? Thanks for your support in these forums!!
