  1. I have been an LPN for 11 years and have just not been able to go back to school. Some people learn differently. I am a hands on learner not a book learner. I would love to have this opportunity. I have extra certifications in IVs, wound care, assessments/care plans that have given me the ability to care for my patients above an LPN without them. I have signed the petition. Thanks for sharing it!
  2. I hope you are going to start with the LTC position. I started there and have found it to be such an avid part of my nursing experience. I learned so much while there that I jumped into wound care nurse, assessment coordinator, then into nurse manager. You become 'physician' so-to-speak for your residents. You end up (most of the time) telling the doctors what you think that resident needs. I loved it and wouldn't have changed my decision for the world. Now jump in with both feel and hang on because it can be a rewarding challenge! Good luck! :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah:
  3. Ok...mine is short but a true realization as to what someone will do just to keep from doing jury duty....... I am a phone triage nurse for a local hospital here and I answered a call with a gentleman on the other end in dire straits. He began telling me that he MUST have a note to give to the judge TODAY that says he cannot participate in jury duty because he hadn't finished doing his hemoccult cards yet and had one more slot before having to return it to the lab!!! He was worried he might have to 'use it' during jury selection and didn't want to have to start over. I just about fell out of my chair with SILENT laughter! :chuckle
