  1. Well my short term memory sucks also, I don't remember names to much. Unless there was another person that I was hanging out with that had the same story as you! Ok well this will make it or break it, do you have a friend named Michelle?
  2. Your first initial starts with an M correct? I actually forgot your name but M sounds about right.
  3. Well I would have called if I had your number! LOL No No I believe I have the right person because we talked about this over dinner and drinks! Hint one: It was a Tuesday night
  4. We had dinner and drinks together....!
  5. After reading this post...I think I know who you are tag! LOLOL
  6. yeah I have it all done now I just need to send it away! I just got the drs signature the other day.
  7. Soooo... After we all received our packages we had a few things to fill out especially the medical history form. Notice that it said to return it within 4 weeks of dated item and the other thing is that it needs to be signed off by your doctor, the major thing on there is that you need to have 2 tb test within the past year and within 2 weeks apart. Scheduling and doing a TB test takes time...I just got my last tb test read this past Monday, so now I am waiting for the doc to sign off on the paper. But the point is, is that I'm past the 4 week period. Anyone else in the same boat?
  8. still no package...this thing is so elusive, it better be worth its weight in gold! LOL
  9. Yeah she told me the same thing too, however a while back, she told me an estimated date and that has long past. Then I asked again for an update and she said at the latest last Friday.... So we'll see.
  10. Any new updates anyone?
  11. I hope you left the "blah blah" out of your essay!!! LOL!!:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle Sorry, cleaning today, must be the chemicals! Crap....that's why they didn't accept me....or is that the real reason why they accepted me? LOL
  12. Same with matilda123, when I wrote my essay, I was writing a self profile at first then it turned into a semi-essay of some sort. So it turned out to be a big ramble of my past/current experiences then it some personal information as to what persuaded me to become a nurse (not because I wanted to be a nurse to help people because that is so cliche, but why I wanted to help people if you know what I mean). Then I looked at what I wrote and I grouped them in a time line. I organized my thoughts and took out the irrelevant stuff and worked on the relevant stuff and added on to it to make it "shine." I didn't even put an introductory paragraph since what ever I tried to write always turned out so "cliche!" But I did emphasize on the body of the text though. Use strong words also like, excellent instead of good, stuff like that. Then I just added a simple closing remark like: "In closing, blah blah...excellent candidate for apposition in your Nursing School. I am very compassionate blah blah...strong science background and previous exposure to the medical field. blah blah...excellent support from colleagues, family, and friends throughout the years, and blah blah....I feel that I am ready for this next step in my career development. Thank you for this opportunity. blah blah....etc...." :typing
  13. Which hospital...! Because $38/hour is a lot!
  14. That's strange, I applied on the 26th also and everything wasn't completed until Sept. 15th and I got my acceptance on Oct 3rd.
  15. haha! I need to pay and print today to, then I will just hand deliver it to them!
  16. Don't forget to print out the payment confirmation and send it off with the enrollment agreement!
  17. After you get your acceptance, its a $400 deposit to hold your spot but it will be applied to your tuition in the end.
  18. I just got my official letter today too. Well think about it this was for school cost, UMB is probably going to be the cheapest school around here. I noticed on the enrollment agreement it said that I need provide official transcript again. But I guess I would need to if I was taking classes this fall, which I am not.
  19. Yeah same here...I kept on checking the online application summary like 10 times a day!
  20. I'll be at the Baltimore campus!
  21. happy dance... Application Status: Decision Made Decision: Admit-Institution still a little shaky at work after reading that!!!!
  22. Cool cool! Well congrats, maybe if I get accepted I will see you there! LOL How was your NET scores? Yeah I took classes at CCBC and now UMBC to finish up, but the only thing that is hurting me is my classes from almost 98-00 but those classes that I used from that school is the elective courses which I mention that was low. As long as they just calculate the required courses I think it won't be to bad. My resume/CV have a pretty good background, I currently work at Hopkins doing research and authored a few scientific papers too. Hopefully they weigh my experience in also! My application is ready for review but they lost one of my letter of recommendation, its an auxiliary one since I they do have my 2 academic ones but I want it them to have it to. The person that wrote it for me will send one out overnight so I should receive it tomorrow. She said she will send it out to the school and to me in a sealed envelope then I will just probably hand deliver it also.
  23. There are 2 accessible lots to park at, one on Washington street, called the Washington street garage! That lot is east of the campus, but still on campus. The other lot is the outpatient center lot, that is west of the campus. Washington garage will cost you $10 for the whole day, I think its the same at the outpatient garage. Go to maps.google.com and copy and paste this number w/o brackets "39.298572,-76.589599" that is the Washington street garage. Here is the number for the outpatient garage "39.297128,-76.597517" They are both about equal walking distance to the main hospital
  24. Hey how long ago did you apply? I submitted my application a week before deadline . I was taking 12 credits this summer , it was a pain in the butt. Then when classes was over I had to get my butt into shape and complete the application process. Took the NET exam the day after I submitted my application online! I didn't do to bad, 100% on math but 68% on reading . Anyways, where did you go to take your pre-reqs at? I'm just wondering on my chances on getting accepted. I took classes way back in the day...well not to long, less than 10 years ago! Then I recently went back to school to do all the pre-reqs for the nursing program, I had an average gpa of about 3.4. But when I did the course in progress form I calculated my gpa it dropped to a 3.0, that's because of the stupid elective class , during the days I didn't care about school...which was way back. But then I shaped up with all my pre-reqs, busting my butt to get A's and B's. Hopefully they see that as a positive trend. And I am rambling in the wrong thread!!
